Told me I could have a account with customs to help with the advancement fee..... But was a standard charge

Have got them to reduce the VAT to 5% before, and ISTR they ended up paying it for me when they realised they'd charged it incorrectly anyway.

Avoiding Fedex customs 'admin charge', by Wenters on Jan 3, 2013 13:47:36 GMT 1, I've just set this up....it took me 3 attempts with different members of the FedEx team!!...the trick is to go through to 'Quotes Department' who will take your details and then send you the form to complete....it takes 2 minutes and saved me 2 x ยฃ10.50.......and will save me the same when the Supine invoice arrives!

Try again....but ensure you go through to 'Quote Department' and NOT the 'Accounts Department'.

Called the FedEx hotline, the guy told me that you don't need to pay the service charge if you pay the import tax within 10 days.
Just paid the import tax without the service charge, even though I'm outside the 10 days. Will keep you updated how FedEx reacts (if at all).

Same here. I was told that the service had been withdrawn and a recent communication from management stated that they were not able to waiver the admin fee. Their advice was not to use FedEx in future.....annoying!

I told them I hadn't authorised them them to do this and if given the choice of paying such an excessive fee or waiting a little longer then I would clearly have waited.
Job done.

I have never paid the admin fee from fedex ever.
Just email their billing department and say it is disproportionate to the VAT that is due.
If that does not work just say that you never requested that they act for you on your behalf - they just did it automatically.

Works with most banks and company's.. Because I had to ring FedEx about 10 times to get it sorted... And was on the phone ages each time..because of the amount of time I called and was never rang back it was past on to a manager who sorted it for me.. But with others on here they got sorted straight away... All I can say is keep trying.. They send you a form through email
