BEWARE - INTRUSIVE QUESTIONING - POSSIBLE FRAUDSTERS LURKING, by shaunq on Aug 14, 2013 20:10:25 GMT 1, If your right hand gets tired, be careful you don't swap hands or you'll be pulling yourself off for eternity ....and thats a bad thing because............? the UHU in his other hand might complicate proceedings......but I got a feeling you're quite partial to complicated proceedings (naughty) Nigel ?

BEWARE - INTRUSIVE QUESTIONING - POSSIBLE FRAUDSTERS LURKING, by Young Squire on Aug 15, 2013 14:00:41 GMT 1, I personally would be very careful doing deals at your home address with people from the forum.
Last year I made several sales of large pieces in able to help get out of a rented flat and into my own place. Not wanting to trapse around with them I agreed with the seller that they could collect.
The sales all went through smoothly and without hitch but I did get a weird vibe from one of the people who seemed more interested in checking out what was still on the wall.
A few weeks later after and I had completed on my house purchase I was around at my new home doing a spot of pre-move painting when I got a call from my wife to say the door to the flat had been broken into.
Fortunately I had already moved all the art to the new place and all the burgler found was a half packed house. The weird thing was that there were laptops, ipods a tag watch and other stuff clearly on the side and nothing was taken.
Not definitive but felt like a lucky escape and will be super cautious about deals at home from now on!

Important that as a group we all refuse to buy without some proof of purchase, paper trail, email trail, COA etc...then if these people can't sell on...then they will realise they are wasting their time and not consider art as something worth stealing.
Also don't keep your COA's in the same sleeve/place as the art work.
