Dot Dot Dot โข Napoleon, by Dr Plip on Nov 16, 2013 13:25:16 GMT 1, Do you remember back when prints used to take days, if not weeks or months to sell out? Now (some) (a lot) of people are so concerned that if they don't buy it now, they'll miss out on a) Nice piece of art. b) A good flip. c) A flipping nice piece of art to flip.
How many times recently have we seen prints sell out within seconds, only for later on someone to say "I don't really want it, anyone want it for cost?" or "Having just f5'd for 14 hours straight, the wife has left me, the dog's shat all over the house, and I think there's a baby in here somewhere, anyone want this for cost + ยฃ50?"
I don't know whether people are more internet savvy than they used to be, or maybe it's the rise of the flipper (due, I'm sure, to the harsh economic climate), but prints (not the shit ones) sell out incredibly fast these days. People don't have the time to mull over "Do I actually want this on my wall?" There have even been some releases where you see very little of the image until it's released. Are you going to look at it for half a second, thinking whether you like it.
Plus, in many cases, certainly for hot artists, why wouldn't you have a bash at the latest release? Worst comes to the worst, you offer it back on here for cost, or you flip it.
Sorry, I've completely lost my point now. I'm not sure if the Napoleon image has a deeper meaning. People can but it if they like the image, like the artist, like the chance of a profit, etc. But some might have bought it because they were too scared of missing out on the chance to buy it.
Maybe.
I have no fucking idea. My point is gone.
Gone.
Shit, getting old sucks.

Nah, I agree. In fact I'm definitely guilty of having bought stuff without really thinking it through. Would explain why I've got things in tubes that have never made the wall.
Next drop I'm going to take a deep breath, think things through....and then buy like crazy!!!

The lime green was an AP edition of 10. The background is lime green with a silver or gold hat.

Dot Dot Dot โข Napoleon, by James on Nov 18, 2013 18:47:11 GMT 1, Yeah it was sold as A/P, but it's numbered 1/10 not A/P so in my eyes it's just a different colour with a smaller addition.

Is it listed as an AP edition on the COA? If not, then it really isn't an AP edition, just a Napoleon variant edition. Which is way more understandable. Because it should NOT be an AP edition.
I'm sure there are AP prints of the 'regular' Napoleon edition. Then again, maybe they only printed 25 of each.
Who knows!?!?
I love the image, really like to see some photos of the 'color background' editions.

These aren't additional prints, the artist sends a small number for release thru another gallery. Like art republic have Dolks latest releases.

From what I gather Graffiti Prints were allocated 2/3rds of the Napoleon edition. The rest were shared out amongst other galleries.

We knew from the release announcement that there were 25 of each colorway in the edition, and they would be released at various locations. Which means, GP were not the only release location.
All Rights Destroyed was to be one of them. Because of website issues the release did not happen. Rat King may be releasing the ones ARD were going to release.
Hope that helps.

If you pay with Paypal then they use that address anyhow.

I took a punt to turn these around and earn some money and failed. So now I'm hoping to sell them at cost
Swearing on kids life??? Jesus..I feel like puking
Some people are so lucky in that every time they dip toe into the print market and they get burned, something special turns up to ease the pain of the burn.Talk about born lucky!

Dot Dot Dot โข Napoleon, by kunstrasen on Nov 24, 2013 17:07:22 GMT 1, 48000 Yen is mad for these imo...makes the canvas at 200000 Yen look like an absolute bargain. Well, someone snapped up the last one available. Seems like a wise choice to me compared to the print, that is if you have the funds of course.
