Art pieces you would NEVER sell or trade?, by johnnyh on Jul 26, 2014 23:03:32 GMT 1, That's great mate. That's why I did it as I had rarely seen one only at auctions and with prices these days thought the young people who should be seeing them won't.

Art pieces you would NEVER sell or trade?, by alittle on Jul 26, 2014 23:34:11 GMT 1, Everything has a price... That's not correct. How exactly is that not correct? The original post solicits a response as to which pieces in your collection you would never sell, to which I responded that "everything has a price", which it does. I am very fond of every piece in my collection, however, if someone were to offer me absurd amounts of money for any of them, I would have no problem parting pays.

For me theres a few bits money is irrelevant, gifts from artists when my children were born and when we got married etc, theyre not looked at as commodities more like bits of sentimental history but aside from those i know what youre talking about, if ive bought something and i really like it but was offered daft money id take it and run, lots of lovely art out there to replace it...just the personal bits which are different.

Art pieces you would NEVER sell or trade?, by johnnyh on Jul 27, 2014 11:58:18 GMT 1, It was Caught in the crossfire Wiz. Held by the Herbert Art Gallery in Cov. I come from there and used to visit when I was young. Show is on War, peace and reconciliation through the eyes of artists. Big focus on the schools etc attending.ngreat show lots of art from the wars through to Kennard Phillips, war Boutique and I kinda supplied BHug a couple of Banksy prints and a Blek canvas for the street element of the show. Really nice show. It's now in Dresden and the comes back and goes to Guilford or somewhere but the gallery earn a few quid and it's a really good concept. The Herbert is a public not a private selling gallery

Art pieces you would NEVER sell or trade?, by johnnyh on Jul 27, 2014 12:58:38 GMT 1, No mate was in Cov last year Oct time I think. The concept/show is the Herbert's as it were. So they are for want of a better word renting out the production and doing it elsewhere as it gained good interest.
As far as I know will not appear in Cov again. It opened in Dresden on 5th July and runs till Oct. It's going to Guilford or Gillingham in 2015 can't remember. Will look it up and drop you a pm.
There is a thread on it and some pics on the forum.

Think you would have really liked it Wiz in that it was a subject/concept but had art from 1st/2nd WWars right the way through and really diff subject matters. Really unusual mix
Was quite stunned when saw it as it had developed so much from the first concept discussions I had with them.
