A1, A0 Portfolio and Sleeves, by JAlternatión on Jun 28, 2017 9:41:08 GMT 1, Hi,
I have a couple of large prints that won't fit into my A1 flat file folder, and am having difficulties sourcing a larger (A0) folder. Aside from storing between sheets of wood (not really an option in my house due to space) does anyone have any recommendations for how to store large size prints. Best option at the moment is to tube them, and I'd really rather not for obvious reasons.
Cheers J

A1, A0 Portfolio and Sleeves, by soupy on Jun 28, 2017 14:23:16 GMT 1, i found these to be high quality and come in a variety of sizes. Really thick mylar with an inner sheet to separate front/back storage of prints. Also has a thick stitched edge for protection.

A1, A0 Portfolio and Sleeves, by willamsa on Jun 28, 2017 19:31:25 GMT 1, I bought a few 40x60 inch foam boards from Atlantis at the weekend, all my large prints fit in nicely layered with acid free tissue . . . and none of the risk of trying to slide into a sleeve.
They reluctantly gave me the box they came in too, so that gives them a little more protection and slides nicely under the bed
I'm sure they were acid free but it doesn't explicitly state acid free on the web site (so will pop in tomorrow and check) www.atlantisart.co.uk/foamboard-white-5mm-pack-of-5/

The reviews on those sleeves claim that the holes break really easily, how have to found them to be dude? I have archival Mapac ones and have found them just fine so I’m wondering if these are different.

I ordered these exact ones in the end, I'll have a look once I get them but in all honesty, if I'm just storing them and not moving them around then I'd expect them to be fine. Maybe the people reviewing these ones were moving them around all of the time.

A1, A0 Portfolio and Sleeves, by GMA on Oct 10, 2017 12:33:32 GMT 1, The sleeves arrived folded, not completely but enough to give a slight bump in the middle of the sleeve. Which is annoying, will this affect the print inside? I'm kind of guessing the thickness of the print will flatten it out.

A1, A0 Portfolio and Sleeves, by anothercollector on Dec 27, 2019 22:35:22 GMT 1, Anyone have experience using the Art Vault 24"x36" portfolio? Does it work well for storage or is it not reccomended? Now that I have it in hand I'm reluctant to put any of my prints in it for storage as it just seems flimsy and poorly put together.

I tried it because the price was low at the time. It's actually horrible. It's thick plastic and the inner binding broke within 3 days. I'm sticking with my baroque.

Have you checked the first page of the Art Restoration, Art Insurance, Framing Advice board?
See for example the thread titled Help inexpensive way to store larger A0 prints:
urbanartassociation.com/thread/106279/help-inexpensive-store-larger-prints
There's also a broader thread titled Storing of prints:
urbanartassociation.com/thread/39237/storing-prints
It includes a post I wrote regarding bigger works: urbanartassociation.com/post/1590991/thread
__________
In case you have the budget and space for something more permanent and professional, look online for extra-large plan chests.
[Alternative search terms: "plan drawer"; "plan cabinet"; "plan file"; "flat file drawer"; "flat file cabinet"; "flat file drawer cabinet"; "map cabinet"; "horizontal storage drawer".]
Very few retailers offer sizes greater than A0 (1189 x 841 mm; 46.8 x 33.1 inches), but they do exist. The web page for the first link below states they sell plan chests for items up to 2.5 metres wide and 1.6 metres deep (approx. 98.4 x 63 inches):
www.preservationequipment.com/Catalogue/Archival-Storage/Plan-Chest-Drawer-Cabinets/Extra-Large-Museum-Plan-Chest

A1, A0 Portfolio and Sleeves, by mrizzle on Aug 13, 2020 11:14:31 GMT 1, Didn’t want to start a new thread about this as there are numerous in the subject already but I’m looking for a short term storage solution for A0 sized prints ahead of framing. I have a number of prints of various sizes bight over the last few months which I am planning to frame over the next several months (Sept to Dec/Jan) and I think I’m best to remove them from their tubes during these intervening months. If I’m mistaken then please just say. I know long-term storage in their packing tubes but I’m less certain about keeping them in tubes for a period of 6 months or less.
I’ve read a lot about Selwyn folders/sleeves and I know that these are high quality but I need a few of varying sizes and for those A1 size or smaller then I will probably just pick up archival quality sleeves from Hobbycraft. I really only require 1-2 A0 sized ones for my Mr Jago and Nick Smith prints and was looking at perhaps ordering one of these for them with some archival quality board to separate them in the folder. Has anyone used them or able to pass comment if these seem ok? I don’t want or need to order more than a couple of these sizes and so don’t see the Selwyn ones being a viable option.
picturehangingdirect.co.uk/print-browsers-display-sleeves/299-print-browser-display-sleeves.html
If anyone has another UK alternative then please just let me know. Thanks for reading and for any advice you can offer!

A1, A0 Portfolio and Sleeves, by Judge Fudge on Oct 26, 2020 14:19:02 GMT 1, Grateful for any advice as to best storage portfolio to buy (in UK) that can handle Banksy Bristol posters size items. Too much stored in tubes and need to get out and flattened ASAP ideally - anything in particular I need to be watching out for when I purchase? Thanks

I think A1 size should be large enough to hold the posters you are referring to.
