He is a hard working and talented guy and, IMO, has produced some great work to date. I don't pretend that I like every single thing he's done and that all of his works are ground breaking but for me it's interesting and very enjoyable following his career as he progresses as an artist.
I'm not sure there's any ''bubble'' and certainly no major hype surrounding him. People just like what he does..... as you say F® ''collect what you enjoy'' and I (and many others) enjoy his work.

I enjoy his works because they are usually quite humorous in nature, and looking at them brings on a smile. No, it's not profound stuff but then art shouldn't have to be so serious all the time. Also, his works are not terribly expensive, so what's not to like?

I like the contrast between dreams/hopes/wishes, which are symbolized by the colored fairytale star and the cold and gloomy reality, symbolized by the soldier.
The reality soldier is fighting the fantasy world.
