Bonhams June 17th British Master Prints, by Dice on May 29, 2015 13:47:23 GMT 1, Ha the GWB is another duplicate numbered print like my flying copper, numbered AP DN. Must be far more common than I thought.

Must be far more common than I thought. Just wondered what people's thoughts were on values of DN pieces (ie.how much less if any) and does this mean the other print of the same number also has this written on it, or will have if it gets a name change on coa. Cheers.

Bonhams June 17th British Master Prints, by Dice on Jun 2, 2015 14:42:55 GMT 1, Just wondered what people's thoughts were on values of DN pieces (ie.how much less if any) and does this mean the other print of the same number also has this written on it, or will have if it gets a name change on coa. Cheers. Strangely - it totally puts me off - 'duplicate' and 'OCD' don't usually gel very well in my mind. It also seems a bit clumsy. So for me, I would pay a premium not to have a duplicate number if that makes any sense. However - it is what it is, and I guess a story in itself - about where this artist's commercial roots originated. I don't think there is enough evidence from the prior public sales of DN prints to be able to reliably comment on whether it will affect the value or not.
On a signed print it's not great I suppose but I'm quite happy that my unsigned has been reassigned as an AP. It's a nice piece of pow/banksy history anyway

Bonhams June 17th British Master Prints, by Winter on Jun 2, 2015 23:09:45 GMT 1, I would say in years to come it will be defined as his most iconic image. Which will stand the test of time better, Kate Moss or GWB?

Cheers. just seen this, Rolex. It wouldn't bother me in the slightest. In fact, I'd say I might consider an otherwise normal signed print to be elevated to a slightly 'different' status. It's signed by B, it's a COA printโฆ what more do folk want? Just my 10 cents worth.

Bonhams June 17th British Master Prints, by lobster on Jun 18, 2015 10:59:27 GMT 1, Have to say I would be gutted if I sent any signed Banksy's to this auction.
Of course hindsight is a wonderful thing and the previous auction the prices were very strong but what would the consignee really get back on these ?? Maybe ยฃ32K for the signed Girl With Balloon / ยฃ13k (!!) for the mint Rat and less than ยฃ4K for a signed Weston Super Mare ??
They surely could have achieved more on ebay or here ??
Or has the bubble actually burst Interesting times.

Suppose all things are relative, if the seller had paid ยฃ150 for it back in the day then he / she has had more than a nice return but if he / she paid ยฃ30k for it then not so but still made a few quid.

Bonhams June 17th British Master Prints, by chester on Jun 18, 2015 15:52:32 GMT 1, It wasn't trimmed it was a mistake by the auctioneer. I thought it was a strong price for auction. How has the bubble burst if a Banksy at 20-30k goes to 42k hammer? To me it shows a lot of interest!

In fact, as far as I know, the GWRB is a new record for this image at auction, so just the opposite of a bursting bubble. 4K for WSM is a bit low, but that image has never been very sought after at auction.
It has been mentioned before, but I don't think Bonhams brings in the best prices for a seller. If I were selling it would be Christies or Sothebys, or private sale.

Bonhams June 17th British Master Prints, by chester on Jun 19, 2015 10:55:36 GMT 1, The Balloon girl is a record at auction by some way. If you look at Bonhams prices over the last few years they have consistently achieved stronger results than Christies and Sothebys and had the best crop. The WSM made 5,000.

Private sale is your best bet unless you have a very unique piece. Even then, it is a toss up. Damaged prints seem to do well at a certain auction house.

It always seems to me that better prices are attained on Ebay, no? Even when you consider the fees?
