Crazy Jakes Obama artwork, by paulypaul on Mar 14, 2008 23:36:30 GMT 1, I'm not sure how sensible it is to "label" Obama by his colour.
I think it is incredibly relevant and right. It is a watershed for civil rights in the USA. It needs to be recorded and appreciated. It draws a line and the future changes.
If Hilary does it, make one with pink....

Crazy Jakes Obama artwork, by RetroCanvas on Mar 14, 2008 23:52:04 GMT 1, Fair play CJ, Nice idea, reminds me of some of the Bridget Riley peices (which I love)
The photo's look like they are photoshopped. Are the photo's of an actual real finished article?

Whatever we believe both democratic candidates are being being labelled either by race or gender, but going beyond this a vote for either and especially for Obama is a huge step for the US considering their social history. If he gets in it will be his actions and deeds he will be known for.
As this is an art rather than a political one I'll draw a line there and hope the most capable candidate is elected

Crazy Jakes Obama artwork, by beau on Mar 15, 2008 11:12:52 GMT 1, this is a brilliant idea and execution love it! however a little worried and bored by the race card and implications, when you some it up as simply as white and black dots it's a little worrying i'd say - we're all the same - no? hmmm basically confused, love it, hate it!
bloody good job though! execution brilliant - how the fack did you emboss that without proper kit?

Crazy Jakes Obama artwork, by Michael Jacob on Mar 15, 2008 13:15:11 GMT 1, Thanks everyone for the kind words. Ive got a waiting list started for those who requested. Im still waiting for a few payments from the original orders.
Ive had a few people ask about the embossing. I can assure you there was alot of trial and errors. I ruined many sheets in the process.

Crazy Jakes Obama artwork, by Michael Jacob on Mar 25, 2008 14:05:26 GMT 1, UPDATE: The first batch are being mailed out today. I ran into a roadblock getting them packaged up. I was back and forth with the post office. What a headache! Anyway, I had to custom make each shipping package, to make sure the print arrives safely. All pieces will be mailed out by Thursday. Thanks!

Crazy Jakes Obama artwork, by seidbereit on Apr 7, 2008 16:16:05 GMT 1, My Obama print (is that the right term?) arrived today and it has to be said the packaging was of 1A quality (two thick foam boards with spacers between - there's absolutely NO WAY anything could have damaged the print. Absolutely birlliant.
The print itself really does look the business (I'll take it to get framed this week when I have a minute) and CJ has thought up a very nice idea with provenance - a dollar bill was enclosed which the next owner (as if!) has to be given with the print. I assume the serial number is registered to the work, very simple, very clever. All round very very pleased with it. Cheers CJ!
