3D Santa's Ghetto Surprise Star?, by bob1 on Dec 15, 2007 19:58:28 GMT 1, I must say that the set of prints from 3D surprised me, I really like to see an artist evolve and the set of prints released by Mr Massive Attack are not only his best by far but IMO the best of the ghetto releases. He has a really dark unique style and if he keeps on improving I think he can really establish his self as a great artist in the future.
Its nice when a little artist (not really little but in comparison) outshines some of the big guns (granted Insect, Banksy and friends are still to be released, Hurry up!)
Well done to anyone who bagged a print.

3D Santa's Ghetto Surprise Star?, by Dead Elvis on Dec 15, 2007 20:57:08 GMT 1, Taking into consideration the edition size and strength of the work, I would have to say that this is easily the best priced series that I've seen in ages. Strong images, large prints, etc etc. Really bummed I missed these. +1 to POW.

Absolutely. Pleased to have got an International Jihad from this series - but it has reminded me to kick myself for not getting 'In the Dark' and 'Insect President' from POW when I had the chance. I ummed and ahhed about them for too long then they were gone. 3D is one of the few artists associated with POW who only puts out top quality work instead of the large-edition cash-ins that seem to be creeping in elsewhere.

Yeah, real value for money with the prices of other pieces are going up at. And best images so far IMO.

3D Santa's Ghetto Surprise Star?, by eddiedangerous on Dec 15, 2007 22:14:33 GMT 1, The 3D prints are definitly the best SG release since shop opening and the only ones which I would have bought. GBP 275 isn't a bargain, but hey, it's an edition of only 25 each.

In Baghdad was an edition of 600 for ยฃ65. Makes you weep like looking at POW's first Banksy's on the wayback machine...

3D Santa's Ghetto Surprise Star?, by mike hunt on Dec 15, 2007 22:30:35 GMT 1, I don't think its a surprise. His stuff on POW sold out without hanging around too long and was top quality. I think its been so long without a release that people just forgot about him. I like that he waited a while before releasing more - loads has happened inbetween and his stuff still stands up really well. It almost feels like he's untarnished by all the cynicism that has crept in...its like he's done the opposite to Micallef. 3D is everthing I love about good art - edgy, dark and expressive, with great depth. I'm sure some people would find it a bit unnerving, which is ok - better to hit a nerve than mediocrity.

And he's managed the same in his music as well. Don't you just hate people who seem to be good at everything they turn their hand to!

3D Santa's Ghetto Surprise Star?, by partypooper on Dec 15, 2007 22:45:12 GMT 1, first post: I managed to get 3 3Ds prints yesterday (4 noble truths, reflected jet, and unbelievable truth) and think that they were the best of the show so far. I almost got the other 3 but realized how much they were after converting from pounds to $. i'm really surprised that not a lot ended on ebay, but then again it was a limited release.

3D Santa's Ghetto Surprise Star?, by darko on Dec 15, 2007 22:49:34 GMT 1, I agree Mike, I have to stop crying as i didnt get any of them, and dont think I have the cash that these will fetch on the aftermarket. His work really makes you think unlike some of the other offerings at the ghetto this year (which has been weak imho)

He's definitely gone in my top 10 artists after this!
Anyone got 'In Baghdad' that they're willing to part with for a reasonable amount? - please PM! ;D

Not sure how it is legally (POW did it with the coloured Trolleys either way) but it's definitely against eBay rules.

No disrespect to any of the other artists, some I would have bought if cheaper, others if I was feeling more flushed (and I guess a couple I wouldn't have bothered with even if minted )
