Modern Picture Rail Systems, by stang on Jun 5, 2016 9:54:32 GMT 1, Hi All- I'm currently building a house and the missus is looking to put in a fair bit of wallpaper around the place. Our last place mostly had painted walls so I happily butchered them with new holes as I chopped and changed which pieces were displayed.
I have been warned that this cannot continue in the new place so was looking at investing in a modern picture rail system.
Found this one online which looks like it would do the trick but just thought I'd pick the collective brain of the forum to see if anyone has used one or would recommend a system?

While practicality and compromise will no doubt be key considerations in your shared household, it's also about aesthetics and perception. Regarding the latter, every viewer potentially makes positive or negative associations when they encounter a hanging system, determined by that viewer's life experiences and cultural reference points.
When I see hanging systems, I immediately think of bland imagery hung in generic office spaces rented by landlords who've forbidden any holes in the walls. They also bring to mind sleepy-town, high street galleries โ the kind that push work by JJ Adรกms, emphasising he's a "really hot artist in London right now, selling incredibly well, but if you're very lucky we might be able to convince him to do a private commission for you."
Separately, my position is art should never come second place to decoration (in this case, wallpaper). Granted, that's easy for me to say while sitting in my wallpaper-free home.

Modern Picture Rail Systems, by stang on Jun 6, 2016 15:51:03 GMT 1, Thanks for the link met - just what I was looking for. Interesting points made on the aesthetics of such systems too that got me thinking...I may have to renegotiate the extent of the wallpaper coverage - I could chuck in an extra wardrobe or two to sweeten the deal. If there's one thing she loves more than wallpaper it's wardrobes.
