Heri Dono Painting (Indonesian renowned artist), by Schrรถdinger's Chat on Aug 26, 2016 6:33:53 GMT 1, If his work really does sell for $20k - $40k at auction why not sell at auction, even after fees you would be quids/dollars in.

Heri Dono Painting (Indonesian renowned artist), by met on Aug 26, 2016 14:35:05 GMT 1, For this purpose, let's ignore the reference to "highly valuable for future investment". That's like all the "prices will only go one way" comments โ sometimes spouted on this forum, more often seen on eBay.
I was going to note this kind of thing is always written by charlatans or imbeciles. Then I realised I'd overlooked a third possibility: visualism (and other people who make these assurances) might own a crystal ball and therefore be privy to what the future holds.
----------
Leaving aside the above, what we have here is an excellent case study:
Every seller has the right to disregard basic lessons in consumer psychology. So what happens when they do?
If anyone wants to know how to burn a painting (i.e. taint the artwork, destroy its appeal and quash collector interest), they need only to read this thread.
Non-stop "bumps" serve as repeated reminders of a painting's failure to sell.
In a world where impressions are critical, this ham-fisted sales technique is also useful if wanting to harm the artist. The wearisome negative impact sometimes extends beyond individual pieces. It can influence public perception, of the strength of an artist's career or the significance of their work generally. That's especially the case if the artist doesn't yet have a well-established market.
Forgive all my quoting below. The intention is to preserve a record. Incessant "bump" posts are usually later deleted โ probably because, when viewed together, they become embarrassing to the sellers.
There have been a number of previous sales by other members using the same technique, even for up to two years.
A Stephen PowersEverything is Shรญt painting comes to mind, owned by artylang / ricosg11. He only uses the forum to flip to naive buyers. One recent example was the $1,750 resale attempt of a terrible Richard Prince which had just been bought for $200, as seen in this thread.

No ones interested in your ugly painting. Stop bumping this up
Actually, Heri is one of the most famous and respected artists in Asia, incredibly well collected. I just visited his last solo show at STPI gallery Singapore, which was curated by two very respected museum directors.
Everyone rags on here about mugs like Stik and a load of faux street artists, this bloke will go from strength to strength, if the pound wasn't so battered I might consider it.

Do you have any proof of purchase/coa?
I actually quite like the painting. The constant bumps and him using this board as his own personal sales platform were pissing me off. If no one responded after each bump, then no one was really interested in the painting. But hey, lets give him more opportunity for people to view it and potentially buy it off him by keeping this alive.

etched โข I will take that interpolation ....We can stop clutching the pearls now !!
tullyart โข yes this peice is still available - will take a reasonble offer ?
reg โข Would love to know what comes first though, the canvas or the idea. He could have waited years for a canvas like this to appear.
reg โข Think you're joining too many dots tbh. More likely a stoneage man using 21st century methods to put back the damage done by the modern custodians of the planet.
Jeezuz Jones Snr โข I created a thread called 'Art market current prices'? Can anyone see it? I can only see it when logged in. Silky deleted it?
reg โข Oh deary deary me. This poor landlord really doesn't know what they're doing do they? That frame has already compromised the image, I feel for them, in a way because everything about this has been hamfisted and delayed.
reg โข Took a long time imo. Should've been fenced off on Monday, still no perspex over the main image. Idiot landlord.
arttrooper โข Looking for older Faile prints anyone selling at good prices
