New Eelus -"BEAST OF BURDEN", by Art Fan 2011 on Apr 30, 2017 8:48:56 GMT 1, Absolutely, so many seriously skilled stencil artist out there. Eelus' recent attempts maybe don't show his talents off in there best light, but I woul'nt consider him one of the best out there - this new effort fails well short of the mark for me...

New Eelus -"BEAST OF BURDEN", by Forbidden Love on Apr 30, 2017 9:25:57 GMT 1, Wow you guys are some real hard nosed critics for not having a creative bone in your own bodies. The dead sea is the second biggest salt deposit in the world next to UAA. It's a deftly cut stencil, and hand spraying to get that kind of texture takes a rare talent to execute.
I have to agree with you. I'm a big fan of Eelus, whilst this print does nothing for me either, some of the comments make me laugh. Maybe we should critic each other on our jobs too.
Eelus has done some great stuff and has created some of my favourite images. There are other artists I don't like but I don't bash them or hate them because they haven't changed style over a period of time. Don't want an artist to try and please me, that's just wrong.
Eelus doesn't owe you anything. Art should be exactly how the artists want it, and if you connect with it then great.

How the fuck would critiquing jobs outside of urban art be relevant on an urban art forum that discusses the merits and prices of you guessed it urban art. If it hurts your sensibilities to critique an artists work on a forum that is for that - perhaps you need to go to the ' I love eelus and couldn't possibily bring myself to think critically about his art' forum?

New Eelus -"BEAST OF BURDEN", by Winks on Apr 30, 2017 10:31:14 GMT 1, I have to say, if we aren't allowed to express an opinion as to whether or not we like a print on a forum, UAA might as well shut down.
I like some Eelus's work.
If only folk who liked this print were allowed to say so then Eelus isn't getting feed back. I'd rather know what people really thought.
Now, after reading bad feedback Eelus was wealthy enough or artistically principled enough to continue is his direction then fair play to him.
Dolk is off doing his own thing after all.
Comparing us normal folk to artists doesn't bear close examination. As just as it sounds we are not in the public eye to the same extent. Our performance is under scrutiny in different ways.
