Yes I am, I do love both their works (as I can see you are too from your profile image!) technique wise I've taken (cross) hatching from other artists I love such as Albrecht Durer, Paula Rego, DaVinci and Rembrandt.
Thanks for checking these out!

My recent works and experiments , by Deleted on Jul 13, 2017 2:03:17 GMT 1, Really good work. I enjoyed looking at your art. The ink portraits I like a lot. The old man has a slightly Moebius feel to it.
The screen print doggy looks like a bargain too.

My recent works and experiments , by ccoward on Jul 14, 2017 0:55:47 GMT 1, Thanks to anyone who's liked this! If anyone has any questions or if you're London based and fancy a sketch session I'd be fully up for doing so!
I did this prelim sketch for a bigger idea yesterday - thought I may as well post it in whilst I'm here
upload a new photo

My recent works and experiments , by ccoward on Jul 16, 2017 3:42:38 GMT 1, Thanks dude!
Yeah I'm aware my influences are fairly obvious, I've never denied it either. I'm 26 now and didn't start drawing until I was 20 so I feel I'm still very young in this game to some degree. This forum has been a good influence on ideas also with so much coming in and out on the daily. Can only keep pushing on!
No I haven't! When I have some spare funds I'll be sure to buy myself a copy. See you've got some Bonar and Raymond Lemstra too - both awesome!
Thanks a lot, take care!

My recent works and experiments , by Trismanco on Jul 16, 2017 9:59:56 GMT 1, Thanks Chris,
There's nothing wrong with influences, that's how we all get inspired into art. I teach illustration on the BA courses at Plymouth College of Art and USW - so its something we talk about in student development.
I posted to your thread because its nice to see students absorbing things and getting excited about possibilities. Also it was exactly the reason I wrote this last book, with my students in mind, to explore how different artist's find their own way to make their own mark in terms of approach, subject and stylistically. This what my text is about and of course with nice artist's involved too.
Hope you can find the book - I wanted it to be a text and inspiration for young artists.
Hopefully its in your college library!
Keep it up and good luck towards graduation. T
p.s Bonar & Lemstra - both amazing!

My recent works and experiments , by ccoward on Aug 4, 2017 15:49:01 GMT 1, I don't want to keep burdening you guys with new posts so I'll keep updating this thread every now and then!
Little drapery study I did for a friend in an art trade (In his case a tattoo) Just ink on paper. Doing drapery work is really satisfying to do for me, being very interested in DaVinci's and Durer's studies since the start of my drawing endeavours. No comparison of course. But they're always kept in mind whilst I'm drawing cloth.
Thanks!

My recent works and experiments , by ccoward on Aug 14, 2017 21:56:10 GMT 1, More updates! I've started a new job for the summer before Uni starts again which is taking up most of my time so not a lot of artwork is being done. Ink drawing digitally coloured. I don't really like working digitally it's definitely not my strong point that's for sure.
Comments are critiques are welcome, of course!

My recent works and experiments , by k2 on Aug 14, 2017 22:17:18 GMT 1, I like this (and your other illustrations) quite a lot. Not sure of the proper terminology, but I really like the vertical hatching marks that you make. Thanks for sharing

My recent works and experiments , by k2 on Jun 20, 2019 23:58:53 GMT 1, Just adding a message to this thread to congratulate Chris on his graduation from Camberwell and for a very successful degree show.
I've got to know him quite well since this original message and he's a thoroughly decent chap - wishing him all the best in the 'real world'.
