After many months im back here and presenting you with my new body of work. The last 6 months have been mad for a lot of reasons, changing jobs, finding out we are expecting our first child, then finding out it will be a boy, becoming an uncle for the first time and then there is having 2 dogs so ive been very busy.
This new work all got started when i visited my grandma and she gave me a flower press with some 25 year old flowers that i had pressed with my granddad all those years before. I can even remember doing this with him when i was 7 years old. I started looking at all these flowers and then started having ideas about how i could use them in my art. I've always loved a good wood grain, i know it sounds strange but its true. I felt that the use of wood as my 'canvas' coupled with the use of foraged, pressed and dried flowers would be a beautiful place to start.
These new pieces will be shown for the first time tomorrow at the Kirkstall Art Trail which is an art event close to where i live in Leeds, If anyone is nearby come and have a look there are 70 local artists spread about the Kirkstall area showing their work. Maps and locations can be found on the art trail website. Here they are please let me know what you think. They are all available to purchase so please message me if you would like to buy one of them.

At the abbey some activites for the kids. Be creative, and have fun.

The kids have been creating mosaics parts down at the Abbey, but I didn't get a chance to take them to the screen printing workshop.
