Delaware Fine Art Auction 15 September - Banksy??, by Deleted on Aug 21, 2017 1:29:30 GMT 1, Some really nice lot's in this auction but then you see the "Banksy" and it just makes you think that every lot is fake, you can only have so many Warhol doodles in one auction!! I still do not understand how an auction house can list this without stating "Manner" "School" "Follower" or even "Attributed" which does not apply in this case!! Like they would need to do if they were selling any other big name artist. I guess as long as they can get away with it they will, it does make me worry about the amount of fakes entering the market and gaining a (sort) of provenance from what look's on paper to be a legitimate source though

Delaware Fine Art Auction 15 September - Banksy??, by gd79 on Sept 18, 2017 7:47:32 GMT 1, So much dross gets sold at smaller auctions. Go to saleroom.com and search for Banksy, you'll see the tip of the iceberg!

Delaware Fine Art Auction 15 September - Banksy??, by mose on Dec 30, 2017 3:20:17 GMT 1, Very good is not a legal or scientific term and depends on each entity to define it. It's really not advisable for anyone to take a layman's interpretation of its meaning. In my line of work, I'm often reporting on a examinee's short-term memory. A layman might say something like, "My short-term memory is shot, i can't remember what I ate for dinner last night." In my profession, short-term memory is matter of seconds.
In collecting terms, specifically record collecting, VG is not really desirable. It's a lower grade. For example, this is from Discogs:
Very Good
Generally worth 25% of Near Mint value. Many of the defects found in a VG+ record will be more pronounced in a VG disc. Surface noise will be evident upon playing, especially in soft passages and during a song's intro and fade, but will not overpower the music otherwise. Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as with light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound. Labels may be marred by writing, or have tape or stickers (or their residue) attached. The same will be true of picture sleeves or LP covers. However, it will not have all of these problems at the same time. Goldmine price guides with more than one price will list Very Good as the lowest price.
Surface noise + tape residue and scratches you can feel with a fingernail. Not exactly what one would instantly think of as very good, right?
