They don't charge the seller any fees if it goes over $10k, which this most definitely will.

Christies results , by Loobaz on Sept 19, 2017 21:14:16 GMT 1, holy crap that nola result.. Is that Nola a unique colourway?
It's also nice to have a clear result for a Gangsta Rat now. £7,500 Hammer price would mean the seller achieved £6,500, or even a touch less? And less for the Police Kids, I imagine?
Just last month, people were saying £12k for Gangsta Rat, so this certainly helps put a few of these "valuations" into perspective.

Yes, that pink/yellow rain NOLA is the "rarest" of the NOLA AP editions - I believe there are less than or around 10 in existence - I am also aware that there are only 12 dark to light orange rain AP NOLAs in existence and I know of one that also sold for approx £85K

Christies results , by sfnyc on Sept 19, 2017 23:42:26 GMT 1, The same auction house would get you different results in different countries. Yes Christies / Artcurial / Sothebys are leaders but it doesnt mean they ll get you the highest price all the time. I worked with big auction houses before and they can be as shady as their interests allow them to be. But if you can befriend the auctioneer (and not the "experts") - you ll be well taken care of!

Exactly, people always look at hammer price + buyers premium, but they should look at hammer price minus sellers Fee. That should give you the price range, since you as a buyer must deal with issues like authenticity, money transfer and shipping on a forum like this.

I would imagine peoples view changes on this subject depending on which side of the fence you are sitting on at that point in time (buyer vs seller mode).
The only thing I would comment on is that clearly the buyer was happy to pay the hammer price plus premium and therefore there could be other buyers prepared to do the same.
You cannot possibly say the seller was necessarily happy to let the work go at the hammer price less fees and therefore there might not be other sellers prepared to let the work go at this price.
