Banksy Love Rat Print, by Art Fan 2011 on Aug 6, 2014 15:06:40 GMT 1, At this rate, it will cost 20k for an unsigned rat by this time next year. Prices might never go down again!
I disagree, demand will dry up and once most buyers have been priced out of the market prices will come down. Theres no shortage of Bankys out there but cant believe people will be queuing up to pay 10k plus for an unsigned print by Mr B.
On another note, congrats with the quick sale, I didnt even see the pics so I could make an offer. (Anyone selling a Banksy "Rat" PM me please)

If anything brand Banksy has become more worldwide than ever before, so hence more people want to own a piece of it meaning demand is rising.
Add in the continuing successful auction results and his pieces will be put more and more into serious collections who buy and don't sell, so less and less pieces will become available.
It also doesn't look like he will ever be releasing another print, so there isn't huge numbers of prints floating around.
While I agree 10k unsigned prints aren't around now, I certainly think they will get there and I don't rekon it'll take that long either.

Banksy Love Rat Print, by doctor on Aug 6, 2014 15:31:55 GMT 1, What does an unsigned Warhol Monroe screenprint go for?
Serious question, not being facetious, as I don't know and 2 minutes of Googling left me with nothing. I'm not trying to downplay Banksy by any means, hell I'm in the process of buying a Love Rat myself, but unbridled enthusiasm towards future valuations should be kept in check, or at least put in perspective.

Banksy Love Rat Print, by samfrost on Aug 6, 2014 15:45:49 GMT 1, I know I have mentioned this for a while but....what if Mr. Banksy comes out with new prints over the next few years? Hard to believe that he is totally "done" with his hardcore fan market. But I do suspect that may slow down the acceleration of older print prices that have been flipped 10x over.

There weren't any official unsigned Marilyn prints. That's probably why you couldn't find any info.
The cheap Sunday B Morning prints have nothing officially to do with Warhol.

I think it would more than likely have the opposite effect, if Banksy ever does do any more prints which I think is unlikely imo a lot of collectors will still covert the early prints and pay accordingly similar to how it is now really, what Banksy collector amongst us would not want a rude copper if we could afford it without getting grief. I agree with Banksy not being done he is just done with prints but I am sure his private commission base and accasional international city residencies will keep the cash flowing on top of the Apple shares and stock derivatives..

LOL, actually there are no PP's mentioned in his catalogue raisonne, only AP's that were signed and lettered A-Z.
If there was a spare unsigned print that the foundation sold it would have more than likely been a one off.

Banksy Love Rat Print, by alexdb on Aug 6, 2014 20:45:55 GMT 1, Well that went quick, just within a couple of hours. I just don't know what will trigger to make the price value of Banksy prints going down. Demand will remain and if price will go up again, demand still remains only for less people who can afford a Banksy. By that time, people that own a Banksy will keep it probably, as it will be a rare collectors item. Just my two cents....

Banksy Love Rat Print, by Deleted on Aug 6, 2014 22:11:08 GMT 1, There are probably 100x less Banksy prints in existence than Warhol prints, to nix that comparison. Unfortunate or not, these prices likely won't go down. May flatten, but doubt they'll decrease IMO.
All of this stuff was said in 2012 already. And before that. Nothing has changed, really, and there's no reason to suspect it will.

Banksy Love Rat Print, by lucky7 on Aug 8, 2014 5:54:29 GMT 1, On the one hand, I think B is as popular as he can get. If you havent heard of him after the NY residency thing you never will. His prices MAY rise, but not his popularity.
On the other: We are Smack in the middle of an economic bubble. When the bubble pops (possibly any day now, it MAY have started already (this past tuesday actually)), Banksy's prices will eventually come down. That is my prediction.
