AFK - Question Everything but this statement - Print release, by Press Play on Nov 30, 2018 17:42:02 GMT 1, We're happy to announce QUESTION EVERYTHING BUT THIS STATEMENT by AFK. It's been a long journey but AFK have worked for months to make his next print "Question Everything But This Statement". The motif is based on the piece he made on Ulrike Pihls Hus in Bergen, Norway. It has been redrawn and it is brimming with details.
This year have been eventful for AFK. He rose to national fame after depicting Norwegian ex minister Sylvi Listhaug on a cross and called it "Making a martyr". Many mistakenly interpreted that as a critic against the ex minister, but his intention was to critize the media for their lack of willingness to cover subjects that really matters like Norwegian weapons trade, human rights etc. "QEBTS" follow this trail and is a message to the observer to understand that it is ok to change your mind in the light of new evidence. In the original street piece AFK changed the object placed on the girl's finger. First there was an butterfly, then replaced with Alice in Wonderland and finally a smaller version of herself. The idea here was to play with peopleโs perceptions by setting up an expectation, but when they ventured to see the image in real life, on the street, they would be met with a slightly different image than they expected to see.
To reflect that, this print will be available in 4 variations: main (180), Bugged HF (27), Introspect HF (9) and Alice HF (9). Size is 42 x 59 cm on Hanhemรผhle 350 gsm cotton paper, signed and numbered by artist and available on Gategalleriets website 4th. December at 15 PM CET (London 14 PM / New York 7 AM) www.Gategalleriet.no
