RELEASE: Patrick Hughes “Banksy” 3D Multiple, 2018, by Deleted on Dec 6, 2018 12:16:07 GMT 1, The Venice ones are great I agree. I don't think much of this Banksy inspired one though.

RELEASE: Patrick Hughes “Banksy” 3D Multiple, 2018, by Deleted on Dec 6, 2018 12:19:55 GMT 1, But who is your resale market? Is there a Patrick Hughes forum chomping at the bit to buy his work? These reverspective pieces always sell well at auction. Patrick Hughes is a highly respected artist from the original pop art days. He is far more collectable than 95% of the artists discussed on these forums.

RELEASE: Patrick Hughes “Banksy” 3D Multiple, 2018, by iamzero on Dec 6, 2018 12:35:51 GMT 1, I like his pop art work but this is weak. First saw his Love Letters print on a wall about 10 years ago and really liked it so read up on him a little. Doesn’t matter how good he was this for me is just weird.

RELEASE: Patrick Hughes “Banksy” 3D Multiple, 2018, by Global Art Traders on Dec 6, 2018 12:41:42 GMT 1, Obviously Patrick Hughes is not a well known artist on this forum, hence the comments about the price etc of this new piece. Patrick is an established British artist who has been around for a long time. He used to be famous in the 80's for producing Rainbow prints (which he has returned to a little recently).
With regards to his 3D works - these are called 'Reverspective' works and Patrick invented this process back in the 60's (and is documented as doing so). The general release price these days is £6k plus VAT and they increase as they sell out. His more popular ones are the Venice Reverspective's, Pop Art Reverspective's and the 'Reverspective's in which he appropriates well known artists. I personally love this one as it includes many of my favourite Banksy images, from the street. Of course art is a personal thing for everyone, but when you see these 'Reverspective's in the flesh, they really blow your mind (well it did mine, anyway)
Patrick was represented by Flowers Gallery in London for over 40 years and his work appears in many important institutions around the world. I know Patrick and he is an amazing character and a super nice guy.
For those who want to read up on him a little, here is a great documentary about his work on vimeo
And here is a great interview with him.....

At the grand old age of 79, Patrick will have a stall at the art car boot fair this weekend, 09 December. I hope many of you go say hello and find out what a really nice guy he is!
Hope the info above gives you a little more insight into his work.
