As someone that grew up 10 mins from Luton, it's been in desperate need of a face lift since the 90s !. The best thing to come out of Luton is the Exodus collective lol 🍁 The football is doing great though, the new ground is also 20 years over due !

I remember going on a school trip to LTFC. As I recall, it was the only ground that was season ticket only and the only ground with astro. Maybe I am misremembering that. I got a Luton Town bobble head figure, with a walnut for a head. Happy days.

I got a Luton Town bobble head figure, with a walnut for a head. Happy days. The astro and membership system along with a ban on away supporters were all implemented in the late 80's by the chairman of the time, a conservative MP! We all hated being Thatcher's guinea pigs. Now we have great owners who have brought plans to regenerate the town with a new stadium, music venue, retail and leisure facilties. The stadium has passed planning and on 11th March we have the planning meeting for the enabling development. Our current ground has probably changed little since you were there, we'll miss the old girl but the time is right.

Huge street art opportunity in Luton, by Carl Cashman on Feb 24, 2019 11:51:57 GMT 1, Another city that tries to ask artists to work for free after harassing them in the streets and destroying their public works for decades? Interesting... It's not a council project though, admittedly I can't see people travelling miles to paint.. but as someone that grew up watching Luton and living quite local il probably try do something there. Paint is covered, so that's already better than most projects.

Huge street art opportunity in Luton, by moron on Feb 28, 2019 22:39:51 GMT 1, Didn't Luton have gasworks or something similar or was it British Leyland cars?
Can't knock Lorraine Chase though. She got a lot of appearances on Blankety Blank off the back of that drink advert.

Huge street art opportunity in Luton, by .dappy on Feb 28, 2019 22:48:34 GMT 1, ... it was the centre of the hat industry, especially straw hats in the good old days ...
... also home to Vauxhall Motors .... stopped producing cars there in the late 80's ...
... tanks were built on the production line during WWII ...
... massive investment taking place in the area ...

Huge street art opportunity in Luton, by Gurn on Feb 28, 2019 23:49:39 GMT 1, There are people in the media that would have you believe that Luton is a hotbed of racial hatred and terrorism. Lutonians are sick of the negative press but with the proposed investment along with the great mix of cultures Luton can become one of the most exciting and vibrant towns in the UK. The Mark Tichner that greets visitors arriving by train says it all..

Huge street art opportunity in Luton, by moron on Feb 28, 2019 23:54:56 GMT 1, I think quite a few years ago. Luton was being touted or promoted as a good location for people who work in London being one stop away by train and cheaper house prices.

Huge street art opportunity in Luton, by Carl Cashman on Mar 1, 2019 7:20:19 GMT 1, I think quite a few years ago. Luton was being touted or promoted as a good location for people who work in London being one stop away by train and cheaper house prices. Luton was purely built as a London overspill, as were the town's around it. We had 'chelsea' and Westminster gardens to name just 2 places that they named after London areas to make locals feel more at home.
My family moved down from Greenwich in the 70s
