For Sale: SOLD, by covertshadowops on May 20, 2019 20:40:18 GMT 1, Is this as much / priced in comparison to the Jonas Counter Editions print?
Which is a bigger print but bigger edition. Interested to here thoughts on this?
What about a single red Matisse pot print? Or a pair of Doodle prints?
Or even the newest Speaker still life from Cirrus?

i think this should be priced similarly to the speaker still life from Cirrus, although i think the speaker still life is a better print. haven't seen/need to see this one in person

Interested to here thoughts on this? What about a single red Matisse pot print? Or a pair of Doodle prints? Or even the newest Speaker still life from Cirrus? Speaker print is a bit of a dud in person. While all intentional by Jonas in the print process the photograph version of the speaker just looks bad in comparison to the original. Although smaller I would take this one over the speaker still life without question.

For Sale: SOLD, by graeme on May 20, 2019 22:23:53 GMT 1, A genuine question. What am I missing which gives this print it’s monetary value. I’ve looked at some of the Jonas Wood art for sale that comes up on this forum and not one has made me regret not having the funds to buy it. Whereas I look at lots of other high value art and can see why it attracts the price, even if I don’t particularly like it.

Whereas I look at lots of other high value art and can see why it attracts the price, even if I don’t particularly like it. Right now Jonas Wood is a popular artist whose original artworks are difficult to purchase and sell for large sums on secondary. People who would like to display his artwork in their home are only able to, by putting up a poster of his work or a print. A print is usually a limited edition, numbered, and includes the artist's signature- there's also some artist involvement in creating the print, usually him being sent samples of the production of the print and approving it- and there's a speculative aspect involved. A lot of people are hoping, that as the price of originals increase, so will the price of prints, so it allows you to gamble a little with the artist you are interested in. I think a lot of people are drawn to his artwork because it's home friendly and his work is well respected and known in the art world. It's a bit of a status thing. This is my point of view and i'm sure others would like to chime in as well.

For Sale: SOLD, by orchid on May 20, 2019 23:37:09 GMT 1, The only way of acquiring a primary painting is by purchasing two, one being donated to a revered museum, foundation. Otherwise you need deep pockets at christies and Philips.
Still, this print was 15,000 a few months ago. A cool 15k profit @skynet Glwys

Otherwise you need deep pockets at christies and Philips. Still, this print was 15,000 a few months ago. A cool 15k profit @skynet Glwys it’s actually close to 1/2 a year ago these were $15k. That’s old pricing and they all sold. You can’t get them. With these Jonas prints, there is no getting them at source unless you’re tight in the circle. The leverage in a Jonas deal is all in the seller’s court. Not going to comment on their pricing, but I have been offered more than 30k for mine and refused. It’s a great print.

Yeah you could’ve gotten the new cirrus print for $18,000 if you just emailed them when they announced on Instagram. Was nothing VIP about it lol

I think they’re a bit choosy who gets them. I recently got an email from our friends at Guy a Hepner. Asking $65k for the Speaker.
