I'm not sure who HUSH produces his prints with (i know its One33 that he releases them with but not sure they are involved with production side) but they are some of the best i own!

Technically I’d struggle to see past manifold / paragon and coriander..

I do love the guys at popinkd though.. they’re just good peoples!

I think sometimes it comes down to who is good at the separations not just the printing. I doubt all artists do their own separations, especially on detailed works with lots of colours, gradients and details. I think that's when a good printer can really shine.

In terms of what has not been mentioned yet; Edition Copenhagen is a good one as well, Under Dogs Gallery which produces most of Vhils stuff also does very high quality prints.

Obviously there are many talented screen-printers but I’ve been talking to a few recently and they agree that even the best are often restricted by budget.

If we’re talking about beautiful workmanship: layers of ink, quality of inks, quality paper, embossing, leafing, etc all costs time and money. So often the people producing the best ‘quality’ prints are those working with the best selling artists... simply because they know they can invest in the prints and they’re going to sell.

Some of Harlands recent prints are incredible - Tonight is an example of one I’ve seen recently and was blown away by the layering and details. Too Cool was amazing too. Manifold recently said they could afford to invest in their new Harland prints because they knew they would sell. (I’m sure Harland probably insisted on using high quality methods/inks as condition of working with them too.) Invaders more recent prints (although I’m less keen on the images) have had some cool techniques employed. Again, these printers could afford to invest in them.

If we’re talking about pure and simple images - then Banksy’s printers really did refine that. But there are some awesome prints that were a little more left field (Invader Scream). Also Sheperd Fairey has been in that game a long time and has some awesome highly detailed prints with only a couple of layers.
