I don’t have a thing for Sandra. But I’d say there’s a lot of fucking artists that do the same thing over and over. And it seems to work for them.

New Sandra Chevrier Print Incoming - Graffiti Prints, by nerdgazette on Jun 18, 2019 19:34:52 GMT 1, If anything, the similarities keep me steady at only having 1-2 Sandra prints displayed.

New Sandra Chevrier Print Incoming - Graffiti Prints, by pellets on Jun 18, 2019 21:00:23 GMT 1, I’d be interested to hear a review of this piece by a fan of hers or a comic book fan. I’m not trying to elicit a negative response. I wasn’t a comic book kind of guy growing up so I’d be genuinely interested to hear a review of this work from a fan.

I own two, an OG and a Hf print. I am no longer a comic book reader ( stopped 26 years ago). The print I bought had images from a comic that was important to me visually as a child, with the HF including the exact frames from the comic that always were my primary point of interest.
To be honest who knows what the staying power of her art is, I however just see it all as pop art. Pop art always will have those that scoff at it. She is NO Warhol but an entire generation scoffs at the Campbell soup cans of Warhol, not knowing he had a huge body of work that went beyond those images. I don’t see her moving beyond her niche imagery like he did, but that’s not really the point. It’s meaningful to me in the images contained and what she explains she is trying to convey. Masks and constraints, from the super heroes she uses and women throughout the world.

It’s illegal to like art that you like.
