Rourke Vandal prints, by BK83 on Nov 13, 2007 20:58:09 GMT 1, Rourke is great and all, but I dont think he utilizes his potential as an artist. His drawings/paintings are incredibly detailed, but on a wall full of art would it stand out as unique/interesting/something to talk about with others ? I dont think so. It's the kind of stuff where you say "oh, that's cool" and then get distracted by something else.... you know what I mean.... He could probably make great money as an illustrator for some big corporations........ I love his work, I just don't think it stands out against other art thats out there....

Rourke Vandal prints, by Deleted on Nov 14, 2007 9:45:30 GMT 1, its a funny old game this art. i think these rourke prints are as good as anything ive seen in ages. Pkt75- i wasnt having a dig at you yesterday m8 or anyone in particular, i just feel that that these prints are great value for money and in this day and age to get any prints for under a 1er that you like, you've done well. I am sure there will be lots of people that collect his work religiously. Whatever happens for Rourke Vandal I wish him all the best, I am sure he'll have a good career out of art. There isnt many people who can say if they had the choice of doing one think for a living that the are doing that, although like most intelligent/talented boys Rourke may have wanted to play for Bristol Rovers.

Rourke Vandal prints, by Rourke on Nov 17, 2007 14:43:49 GMT 1, I got up this morning and was flabbergasted! Can I just say a big thankyou to pkt75, I will throw another print in2 your pre Order.
Manchestermike big respect and thankyou for speaking your mind. Critism and any opions are always welcome and I get a lot from them. It would be a boring world if everybody saw stuff in the same way. That is 1 of the reasons why art is so interesting, feel free to voice your opinion or critisise anytime. But do me 1 favour. Give me a chance to proof my worth and keep an open mind about me. I am still a bit of a virgin to all this. When I can pack the day job in and concentrate onit full time and hopefully do that image thatโs โthe 1โ I can guarantee I will defo rise to the occasion.
+1 to all of you.
At the moment I am Hungry for that chance But I will always keep pluggin away, trying to top every thing I do. Cos thatโs the way I am.
I hope to try an offer a varied and mixture of styles on the Vandalart website over the next year or so. I will always offer the stuff you have already seen, but with the โnorthern industrial stuffโ and โskins collectionโ I hope to show that I aint a 1 trick pony and that this will appeal to some of you in some way.
The price of ยฃ95.00 I think is a fare price. My images take so long to do its mad. I am not being critical of the time it takes me to do them, the longer the better, I think. Its just the way I am. I have to put everything into them Heart and Soul. I feel this is something missing from a lot of artists today. If I spend 2 months on a picture, rather than 1 day. This helps me express, different moods, more soul, and feeling ect. Basically more of me init. I think customers deserve that when they are paying a good amount of brass. I am not saying this is the right way, but is the way I have always done it. And to those who can do a picture in a day or less, well good on em.
The War thingโฆ I am in no way jumpin on the band wagon. It is something I feel very strongly aboutโฆ The modern world we live in. I arenโt clever enough to be Political, I think. But I know the difference between right and wrong and try to get that across in my pics. From being a young lad, waiting for my bro to come home on leave from 1 para and see what goodies heโd brought me, that is when my interested in millitaria started. And from an early age I have drawn soldiers, guns ect.
I hope I havenโt bored you all too much babblin on.
Could some one tell me how to link to post to thank you more individually.
Thanks all of you again, and keep em comin.
Cheers Rourke
