12 DAYS OF XMAS - BRISTOL 7th - 22nd DECEMBER, by Art-el on Nov 16, 2007 23:10:21 GMT 1, 12 DAYS OF XMAS โ ART SHOW
***press release***
STEAL FROM WORK, ART-EL & BEFORE CHROME present
12 DAYS OF XMAS.
A group show featuring 30+ of the worldโs most loved & loathed contemporary urban artists. Featuring a real mix of styles - stencils, fine art, sculpture, canvas, prints, video & graffiti from Cyclops, Nick Walker, Guy Denning, Beejoir, Dr.D, James Cauty, Misteraitch, Ghostboy, Eelus and many, many more (full list below).
The concept is laughably simple; a few of us got together, decided to do a show and asked our mates if they fancied sticking up a few pictures as well. Most said yes, they also asked what gallery we were going to use? Well, weโre not really into white walled galleries, 50% mark ups, over priced prints & cheap wine fueled opening nights. Weโd rather just find an old, unused building and see what happensโฆ
Someone jokingly mentioned that the old Bridewell Police Station would be an interesting venue. We obviously didnโt get the joke because weโve managed to get it! The big wooden entrance doors, the security paneled reception, the interview rooms, the charge desk and even all the old cells. The artists love it โ especially as many spent most of their formative careers avoiding the place!
The show has a very loose xmas theme (well we might manage to get a tree and some mince pies for the opening night) but more importantly itโs an amazing opportunity for a big group of like minded artists to get together and show their work in one of the most interesting venues youโre likely to see in a while. All the work on show will be for sale with a mixture of one off pieces and deliberately affordable print editions - a great way to fill those Christmas stockings!

12 DAYS OF XMAS - BRISTOL 7th - 22nd DECEMBER, by CR on Nov 16, 2007 23:58:25 GMT 1, Hey,
this looks amazing, so will it be all new work or is some of it going to be a display of old prints? can't quite tell from the press release!
might be able to come to this one, seeing as brother in law lives in Bristol!
Do I need an invite to come to the opening night?

12 DAYS OF XMAS - BRISTOL 7th - 22nd DECEMBER, by Art-el on Nov 17, 2007 14:56:29 GMT 1, Cheers guy's
It would be great to finally meet you all, especially as getting to the London shows is very difficult for me.
Romany, plenty of cheap hotels/travel lodges near or not very far from the venue (any sculpts for the show.
FPR, you know you want to.
CR, 99% will be new unseen images and brand new works on print, canvas, wood, fabric as well as installations etc
Official show website now up and running, just a splash page at present but more details to follow, so keep checkin in
www.12daysofxmas.co.uk/
Could I be cheeky and ask you all to use the main board? It's our first show so we need the coverage

12 DAYS OF XMAS - BRISTOL 7th - 22nd DECEMBER, by mred on Nov 24, 2007 1:37:43 GMT 1, MB, Really excited to see what K-Guy is bringing to the show, just picked up couple of his fag packets from his SOS release but to be honest have not seen much of his other work although seems really genuine guy.
Show just keeps getting better and better.
Week re-jigged to be in town for the opening night.

The right is definitely Adam Koukoudakis. The middle looks familiar. 45rpm?
The left is a total guess... Dr D?

12 DAYS OF XMAS - BRISTOL 7th - 22nd DECEMBER, by 33pm on Dec 13, 2007 15:05:38 GMT 1, LET THEM EAT CAKE..... S-Editions offer
Just a reminder that the first person to turn up at the show with a file baked into a cake will get a free artist's proof of dr.d's new 'I Don't Feel I Fit In Here Either' print.
Leave the cake, give your name and address to the nice person in the office at the show and we will send you the print in the new year.
The second person to bring a file/cake combo will get an artist's proof of Jason Atomic's 'Slim Leggy Blonde' print (it's just as good, but smaller).

12 DAYS OF XMAS - BRISTOL 7th - 22nd DECEMBER, by mred on Dec 21, 2007 23:53:05 GMT 1, Last day tomorrow - not sure what I am going to do when it shuts been there three times so far and still day to go.
Top venue, top art and top guys and girls who are still smiling even though it must be ***cking freeze being in there 8 hours a day every day!!!!
Anyone who has not been should pop in especially if you are in Bristol Christmas Shopping, plenty of original present ideas if think someone would like a bit of art instead of socks and handkerchiefs.

12 DAYS OF XMAS - BRISTOL 7th - 22nd DECEMBER, by mred on Dec 22, 2007 0:24:25 GMT 1, Forgot to mention got my Graffle tickets there and had a look at the prizes on Wednesday evening.
Mau Mau canvas and Nick Walker TMA print look great, lots of other pieces by some great artists including a print by bloke called Banksy which might interest a few.
Couple of great local charities so worth supporting even if you do not like Banksy or other artists
