New piece - 3 Meets 4, by bRUSHmONKEY on Jan 21, 2020 22:17:11 GMT 1, This piece is nearly finished. I'm open to offers. It's Oil on Canvas and is approx 70cm x 50cm
The image attached is a photoshop hack of the part finished thing. I added the yellow background and the pink outlines in this image, so I could work out the right colour combination, so the final piece will all be painted.
There is a bit of a back story to this series. I've been living abroad for just over a year now and it's a strange thing to be the subject of interest. I've never really experienced what it's like to be the exception before and it's a mixed bag of feelings just going about daily tasks. I've been wrangling with how to simplistically represent this situation and I'm a science guy and a design guy and over time it developed to fall back on a reductive approach to represent my day to day experiences.
I'm also doing a negative version of it in red lines and mint green dots as part of an ongoing series of 3 meets 4.
I'm a longtime artist / designer but this is my first real piece other than sketches and scrawls. I think it will be finished in a month or so as I'm moving house and don't want the wet oils to get battered in the move. I'll post up photos of the finished piece as soon as possible if there is any interest. Thanks for looking
