Banksy - Street Art - Catalogue Raisonnรฉ, by lukas01 on Jan 16, 2024 9:56:23 GMT 1, Even 1/10 of Banksy has value. :-)))) Anyone who buys works of art created on walls on the street will never be sure that they have purchased an original by Banksy. No certificate. Only Banksy can tell you whether it was made by his own hands or not. Better not to buy works of this kind. I disagree with that there are plenty of ways of verifying street pieces, photo matching, expert opinion, letters of provenance and other forms of due diligence. Trading them is another matter and due to the way the market functions is not something I would get involved with. Art on the walls in the street is for everyone. Color your day. It makes you smile. Or it makes you think or take your attention away from your problems.
Anyone who buys art torn off walls isn't buying anything. The moment you take possession of something that was made for everyone, you become the owner of something that no longer has meaning or economic value.
Like a canvas torn into several parts. Ripping art off walls is the same thing.
