Damien Hirst • Where the Land Meets the Sea, by topper on Aug 22, 2023 19:19:23 GMT 1, Well I certainly didnt have Studland Bay down as being the most popular.
Timed editions certainly seem to favour the buyer right now. Anyone who bought in must be happy with the numbers.
I wish I got Doldrums too.

I went for Blizzard and very happy. Only 750 paint-splattered seascapes in all and this was my favourite piece in the set.

To produce these I imagine that not much extra effort is needed from image to image.

Less is more sometimes! Congrats to those that bought and loved. Sincerely hope no-one bought to sell on. I think the figures are fine for a timed edition considering the below factors.
1. The prints were not on display at the opening of show. 2. Therefore all press/photography for series was on the originals and not prints. 3. Interest rates are through the roof and people aren't making big purchases. 4. We are not in covid anymore with people sat at home bored with furlough money. 5. Crypto is down! You could buy The Virtues, Empresses etc with Ethereum and Bitcoin. That could have accounted 25%+ of sales. 6. The Virtues were released separate to show in Paris allowing breathing space for both to be promoted individually. 7. Hirst only made 1 post about the prints on IG. The main exhibition took precedence. 7b. In fact Hirst spent more time on IG showing the signed posters! 8. People are away on holiday. 9. If you aren't subscribed to Heni or follow them or Hirst on IG you would have missed it. (including sponsored posts). 10. There have been a lot of timed edition releases since 2020.
Total edition size is 55% of The Virtues which isn't bad considering. No one is losing money except for Sea Paintings maybe.

There’s not many living artists that could generate that amount of sales / revenue in such a short space of time.

Folks stating low numbers, poor performance etc, are confusing their art fandom with faux business acumen.

needless to say the bigger one are very wall friendly

we are speaking about collecting art
why should people buy an original when they can hang an unsigned photos of the artwork they like?
why should a collector spend more for 1/10?
unfortunately can't spend 1 mil on an original DH so a signed print maybe with low edition number will do.
the lower the better, as simple as that

Damien Hirst • Where the Land Meets the Sea, by its all about me on Aug 24, 2023 12:25:54 GMT 1, Wow! A timed edition Damien Hirst with a print run of less than 200. I never expected these to do well but that's still quite shocking! Not familiar with averages, huh? Absolutely nothing to do with averages. Some people bought a signed timed edition Hirst with a print run of less than 200. What part of that are you not understanding?

I hope whatever mental health issues you’re battling get sorted.

It was you that chose to be sarcastic and objectionable by asking if I had heard of averages when, ironically, averages have nothing to do with it. But enjoy your trolling.
