Bio:
Liverpool based artist Dave White draws inspiration from things he loves and has created oil paintings of sneakers, cars, animals and comic characters to date.
Since this time, his work has appeared in countless exhibitions worldwide in China, Japan, the USA, Australia and throughout Europe, and has featured alongside prominent artists such as David Hockney and Damien Hirst. These iconic images have also caught the attention of numerous companies and corporations with work in collections belonging to Nike, the BBC and Rocafella Records to name a few. More recently, a collaboration with Coca Cola exhibited at the famous Dia Arts Centre, New York heralded White joining the ranks of Andy Warhol and the likes.
Whiteโs latest work โSuperheroes and Villainsโ comprises of larger than life oil portrayals of comic book characters and is set to generate the interest that has thus far characterised the career of this uniquely spirited talent.

Dave White!, by artstylee on Apr 14, 2008 18:37:31 GMT 1, Why is It POA.
Because they're going to need to feel you out.
If you've got a Rolex on the piece is now $12,000 ea.
Come in with unwashed hair on a skateboard and it's $3500 ea
Just busting balls. But seriously POA bugs me on Banksy Pieces. It's like you get a better deal if the gallery likes you and you have something in return to offer them. The BackScratching Douchbaggery of Business.

Dave White!, by They call me Stephen on Apr 14, 2008 19:35:22 GMT 1, I personally don't get it, I can't see any substance or depth to it. I've known of Dave White's work for some time now with all of his trainer studies but really don't think it's anything to get excited by. His batman piece appears much better than his earlier work but I couldn't justify spending those big amounts on it.
My two cents anyway, looks like i'm in the minority by far on this one

He does a lot of stuff for nike and paints live at a lot of sneaker exhibitions/openings.
maadbeats - love the canvas.

I'll second that. I've seen his paintings of trainers over the years and i just don't the hype that surrounds his work.

I agree Stuart is pretty amazing, both in his work and in the flesh. I had the pleasure of attending his opening show "Epiphany" at the Martin Summers gallery in Chelsea in 2006 and is was truely amazing.
Stuart had been "made up" by a friend who had glued some kind of beads to half of his face (Phantom of the Opera style) and was surrounded by some interesting characters.
The only low point of the evening was talking to Uri Geller who is by far the strangest person I have ever met!

The Ju$t Another Rich Kid works are amazing- him and Stuart have been doing great stuff together for years, I'd love to have seen the exhibition they put on in NY- I've seen the London shows Stuart's done- always spectacular-but he's no where near Dave White's price range, and has a depth that White's lacking. I'm so chuffed I picked up some Semple Gems.
