More May News from Art-el, by Art-el on May 4, 2008 17:13:33 GMT 1, Spring is here, the days are getting longer and there are stirrings in the creative quarters..
Recently we paid Adam Koukoudakis a visit at his studio (a bit reminiscent of the set of Steptoe and Son!), and after having watched him hand finish and sign them, we left with a bounty of great new canvases.
After recent success in Japan, L.A and last years Santaโs Ghetto, Adam has decided to put to bed the ever popular โCheeky F**kin Pigsโ image with this limited run of canvasses before taking his work in a new direction. These will be released on the Thursday the 8th of May via www.Art-el.co.uk
The new work has debuted at Bristolโs โNot A Penny Off The Pay, Not A Second On The Day" before following it up with a S-Editions show "The Babylon Academy" in Berlin during June.
The summer hoorah that is the Dreweatts Urban Art auction will feature work by Adz, along with other Art-el crew that include Mr Jago, Dr.D, Dora, SPQR and Motorboy who have all submitted work that will feature alongside the biggest names in the genre.
This sale really is shaping up to be a event, that will further spearhead the path of urban artโs push into the established contemporary art world. www.dnfa.com/urbanart.
The works being offered for sale will first be exhibited at the Ultralounge in Selfridges, London from the 23rd May - 1st June. The collection will then be on the move to Bristolโs 'The Paintworks' (www.paintworksbristol.co.uk), from the 5 to 10 June, followed by the sale in Shoreditch, London, at โVillage Undergroundโ (www.villageunderground.co.uk) on view from 13 to 17 June. The auction will be held at Village Underground commencing at 6.00 pm on 17 June.
And if you donโt buy any art, be sure to grab one of the quality catalogues (more like a nice book) that will accompany the sale.
Another rising star Pam Glew has a new solo show โI fell In Love With A Video Nastyโ in May at The Fairtrade Gallery, in Brighton. The show started on the 2nd of May and is open each Friday, Saturday & Sunday until the 25th May 11am โ 6pm. Pam will also be releasing her first screen print, โCrime Sceneโ in conjunction with the start of the show. Itโs a 6 colour, monster of a print at 100 x 70 cm in a limited edition of 50. For more information and for images of the print visit www.fairtradegallery.co.uk.
Thatโs all folks. More artists & news real soon

Sales pitch aside, I think Pam is a great prospect and her style and mediums are vast.
After her recent success in LA then I strongly recommend that if you're in the area be sure to drop in.
Her new screen print is gonna be killer

More May News from Art-el, by alsbabar on May 5, 2008 1:54:21 GMT 1, I cannot recall any works of his there when I was there. Which piece was it and do you have any pictures of it?
Santas Ghetto was a Banksy/POW thing, and Adam K is not on POW's books, so how was this possible?

More May News from Art-el, by donkeydaddy on May 5, 2008 12:15:26 GMT 1, Adam was asked by POW and Tristan Manco to be part of Santa's Ghetto. There were pictures of Adam's work on the Santa's Ghetto website and he was included in all the mailouts. Adam has exhibited at Lazarides gallery, hence the connection with POW. If you are still in doubt, Antony Micallef's news page should help you remember: www.antonymicallef.com/news.php

Loves to cast the stone of doubt about something or someone he thinks/percieves he is factual about.
THEN as soon as facts are outed proving him wrong, you don't see his ass for dust.
Don't worry his scurilous behaviour only gets worse when he hides behind pm's
Sad
