Look what ive just got back from my framer..TLP, by fatherxmas on Sept 23, 2008 19:00:03 GMT 1, No, You need to stop with the 1000 perfectly written essays and just get to the point.
You clearly said "ive been very lucky, had it easy, and never know what a hard days work is"
And just like many other things is their really a such thing as LUCK? I ve heard of risk, And what risk brings is financial gain or financial misery.

Read them again, if that is all you have taken from them then you maybe should have stayed in school?
Risk? Watching the One Show are we, you party animal, you. OUTCOME brings rewards, not risk.

HMMMMMMMM So why
You did ask...
A risk, as an event, doesnt necessarily involve the loss or gain of anything tangible specifically, not necessarily anyway. Risk, as such, is purely a single perspective or one of many perspectives on "an event" - not all perspectives on that event could be said to involve risk.
Every risk "taken" has an outcome, even if the event is a non-event if you like. The entire outcome of the "risk event" is what needs to be judged in order to establish any loss or gain, and not all the outcomes of such an event will necessarily be immediately evident after the event - like, for example, when you make a decision to spend ยฃX on Y, not only are you risking ยฃX on Y but you are also excluding the use of that ยฃX's on any infinite number of other potential events that are now no longer available, ie: spending the ยฃX on Z, ZA, ZB etc so on and so forth. You will have come across these and should recognise it. Not being able to eat your cake and still have it, as it were. Even assuming money is the focus, not every potential outcome of the risk event can be or even should be evaluated in purely monetary terms, sometimes a position, amount of knowledge, even contact or experience gained from a detrimental outcome will put you in credit in another manner, such as intellectual leverage - having the upper hand in another situation, recognise it? Like when an estate agent might say to you, sorry you missed out on that chance, you're top of my list for the next head's up though. Yeah? You might be a few quid out of pocket on a survey, say, but next time... wahey. Likewise, sometimes, the non-monetary gain, if money is the focus, from a positive outcome arent worth the trials and tribulations gone through in order to get there. One could say "Pyrrhic victory". This is generally, unfortunately for most of us on here, where art falls into, risk wise!!! I don't care about the consequences, I must have THAT! Don't think of this in anyway as conclusive, it simply isnt... hopefully just shows that the gain or loss comes from the outcome not the risk itself. Of course, I could have just said there are some risk free outcomes that provide profit... but thats just me.
And you are just you... "As for going through college, getting into debt and taking orders from c**ts"... I've never suggested this to you... it certainly isnt the road I've gone down and wouldnt be the road I would suggest to others particularly - on that note I do tend to agree with you, it's absolutely imperative that you lead your own life. Personally, I just think and happen to know from experience that being successful in any paradigm and being an arsehole about it arent mutually inclusive, in fact, in the long term they are the opposite - mutually exclusive - rarely does an arsehole stay successful for long. I also think a little understanding about the meritocratic system that you adhere so closely to, probably without even realising it, would go an awful long way for you, seriously I do... a belief that one is superior to another based on, the above mentioned, outcomes does little other than to show one's ignorance and arrogance.
Like I said before, I dont think you're all bad - just a bit misguided and very full of yourself, you would (certainly in this exchange of posts) benefit from reading the posts, if you find parts of them difficult to understand then view that as an opportunity to get the dictionary out or ask for clarification. If I did think you were all bad, don't you think I'd just ignore you?

But F**K I would be fighting my corner here if you believe what you say, you either have very thick skin or don't read all of the posts above? You will probably have a go at me as easy pray as you've done before as I can't be bothered to argue with you! You always sound like a different person from here and the Dface forum? Come on FX just enjoy the art as you seem to have built a nice collection!! Are you at the Dface exhibit on the 2nd where ever it may be? Maybe buy you a beer. Take it easy JA

Look what ive just got back from my framer..TLP, by bennyhedgehog on Sept 23, 2008 23:37:04 GMT 1, JunkieArt/Cocteau... I appreciate it was probably a throw away comment by FX that he put little effort or thought into (I would hope anyway), but to show yourself to have so little respect for your own parents and yet still live with them leaves a great deal to be desired and imho just isnt a defensible position - no matter what way you approach it... I admit I have played to the crowd (and, yes, possibly a crowd of 1) and gone off track quite a bit, but I am, unfortunately for me as much as anyone(!!), someone who just can't let that kind of thing lie. Just can't let it lie.
