LAST CHANCE FOR OSAMA!, by s-editions on Sept 2, 2008 21:51:08 GMT 1, where else can we find Osama on the street? (pref without permission from the shop)
It was only done in that location. It came as a bit of a surprise to the shop people, who took it down. So dr.d put it up again.

LAST CHANCE FOR OSAMA!, by s-editions on Sept 2, 2008 21:53:28 GMT 1, i know art is subjective but these are painful to the eyes, its basically a copy of some1 else's print with a badly photoshoped osama on it i would take the galleries money and run away cheering into the woods
What is this obsession with Photoshop? It is actually a badly COLLAGED Osama. Have you ever tried to use Photoshop on the side of a big brick building?

A photo was taken of the street piece, and the screens prepared from that. No Photoshop trickery there either.

Point Blank nicked it from GMC, Jamie Reid nicked it from Point Blank, dr.d nicked it from Jamie Reid. So what?

LAST CHANCE FOR OSAMA!, by s-editions on Sept 2, 2008 22:02:54 GMT 1, Oh and does anybody else get really put OFF when somebody says "you better buy one of these now before they all go and are worth a lot more" ?
We have sold them all, either which way. However, we make LESS money if we sell them to members of this forum, since we have offered a discount. Do something generous and people like you moan.

The stuff in the window was absolutely nothing to do with dr.d. She did the side of the shop because it fitted in with the stuff in the window. Artists do think about this stuff you know - they don't just wander around with 48-sheet pasteups in their pockets. At least dr.d doesn't.

God alone knows what you think when you see a Picasso! Or a Herakut. Probably not a big fan of Judith Supine either.
It's art dear heart, not a drawing in 'Grays Anatomy'.

The Citroen Picasso is a very proportionate car, great for getting the whole family in I think you will find.

LAST CHANCE FOR OSAMA!, by artdivision on Sept 2, 2008 22:14:04 GMT 1, I'm not moaning. I just prefer it when people present work to the forum, and don't appear to be pushing it, more of a "here is some work, make of it what you will, and let me know" attitude, like Rourke, or Grafter, or many others, do very often on here, and get constructive, non-offensive (most of the time) comments.
This appeared pushy, like posting an edition saying "THESE WILL ALL SELL OUT SO GRAB ONE WHILE YOU CAN". Yet again with one of your posts, nobody has even said they like it. I see a pattern.
Anyway, at least you've (rather desperately) posted come-backs to everybodys comments to keep the thread going...

LAST CHANCE FOR OSAMA!, by stuey09 on Sept 2, 2008 22:14:36 GMT 1, Christ almighty. What a bone idle lazy arsed pile of crap. Who ever did that should start consuming the sort of chemicals used by the gallery who've offered to buy this rubbish. It may expand the artist's mind sufficiently to avoid nicking Jamie Reids idea, then putting cheap tacky images over the top.
The original buses had Boredom and Nowhere written on the front of them. Very prophetic of our Jamie.

Too late a "gallery" has already bought them all and is selling them for double. Unlucky Stuey.

LAST CHANCE FOR OSAMA!, by baileymontana on Sept 2, 2008 22:18:02 GMT 1, This is coming across as simply just a hard sell by S Editions. A paste up of a print for sale in one location is not exactly street art....it's an advert. I feel the moaning here is not about the perceived generosity of S Editions, its just that many people are getting a little fed up with sales tactics like this. In the week where Banksy has just been to New Orleans, the point of this thread just comes across as more about the sales than the art and the scare tactics of buy now or regret later.

The paste up was done in 2005! Hardly an advert for a print.

LAST CHANCE FOR OSAMA!, by xylo on Sept 2, 2008 22:20:31 GMT 1, I don't think Jamie Reid stole the image at all, as apparently he produced the original design in 1972 for 'Point Blank!' magazine and then re-used it 5 years later for the Sex Pistols artwork.

We asked Jamie about this, and he confirmed it was not his image.

The artist does a street piece. Three and a half years later they reuse it for a print edition. What's the problem?

LAST CHANCE FOR OSAMA!, by s-editions on Sept 2, 2008 22:27:12 GMT 1, We take an enquiry for the entire edition, but decide first to give the street art enthusiasts on this forum an opportunity to buy the print more cheaply before we confirm the order with the secondary gallery. Again, what is so evil about that?
