How to make a Woodcut and Type print in Sao Paulo, by Pure Evil on Feb 18, 2009 18:44:25 GMT 1, 
step 1 set up the woodcut: carved MDF
step 2 get the type picked out
step 3 set the type using metal spacers to get the right kerning
step 4 print 500 and paste them up all over sao paulo..

But there was only room for one of the phrases in the space I had, and so because I speak English I did it in my own language.
English is pretty widespread and a lot of people over here speak decent english ... and im planning to plaster it over london anyway.

We've also just produced a book with 28 artists using woodcuts printed here...
plus woodcuts by Derlon an artists from North Eastern Brazil..

which he pasted round the city
he did an edition for us - and hopefully we'll keep working with more artists like Pure Evil in the future as well as the local talent...
