Sweet Toof Solo Show, by toothfairy on Jan 24, 2009 13:25:46 GMT 1, any more shots of the collab pieces ?? them ones look ace I have the book coming too ....can't wait
I'll stick it in the post Monday Cashman, until then here's a little peak:

Had a great night just waiting for pay day until I buy a print. How am I going to choose.

Sweet Toof Solo Show, by ihate69 on Jan 25, 2009 10:43:25 GMT 1, hi
one thing i would say is i was a little disappointed with the prints the way i see it is that these guys when they do street pieces they are so strong and have a massive impact
when i heard this colab set of prints was coming out i thought my luck was in as i really want to see what these guys would do together as screen prints when there street images are so bursting with colour.
i thought i was going to see a set of prints like these images we all love on the street. and personally i thinnk they would have sold out soooooooooo quickly
seems a wasted opportunity i think - getting all these heads together and not producing works like this - sadly dissapointed.
Before i saw them all fully intended on buying a full set of the 14 prints as i am a BIG FAN dont get me wrong....
but hey got one at least.

Sweet Toof Solo Show, by toothfairy on Jan 25, 2009 15:09:07 GMT 1, What I love about these guys is that they have no rules and don't give a sh*t about public demand and critics. True artists that do what they want, when they want. In my eyes that's what makes them so successful.
I'm sure there are others out there that side with you Stopki, but if you go to a gallery with expectations your bound to be disappointed. Gallery work is a chance for artists to use different materials, ideas and mediums they usually wouldn't be able to use on the street.
I love the Burning Candy crew because they are always chanlleging my taste in art. I would have been very dissappointed if they taliored there prints to public demand and they ended up on ebay the next day. They could have easily released some bold Lenny screenprints and made money by catered for the market. Instead these pieces are a labour of love with a lot of time and effort invested in each print. I am far from disappointed. I would love to see more artists using different printing methods - woodcuts, lino cuts and dry points. I love my Lenny painting because of the bold colours but its good to change and mix it up once in a while.
The problem is people need time to adjust to 'different', so my suggestion would be to go again with an open mind and really give this work a chance. I know I'm definately going back on pay day.
Supreme, Sweet Toof/ Cyclops, 40x30 cm, black and white linocut on Japanese paper

Lucas is having a few problems accessing this site. Said he's hoping to get it up and running soon or may need to find a different address.

Great post toothfairy. I couldn't agree more, particularly with your first line.

Sweet Toof Solo Show, by ihate69 on Jan 25, 2009 23:32:21 GMT 1, Hiya I hear exactly what ya saying
Tooth fairy And don't get me wrong I love what they do Maybe like you say expectations are not healthy
Maybe an art school background Changes a direction of artist Compared to a street artist trying to be an artist Interseting discussion
Iknow both types of artists And they key is do what ya want while you can As there comes a time when u are expected To do something in a particular way
All good though Still happy with my purchase

Sweet Toof Solo Show, by toothfairy on Jan 25, 2009 23:55:15 GMT 1, Nice to have a healthy debate without it turning into a slanging match. Love your print, that's the one I'm thinking of going for.
