Copyright / Hush - The queue rumours..., by dh on May 29, 2008 21:49:09 GMT 1, The Hush prints were amazing with loads of hand finishing. I found the canvas's to be good but they all seemed to similar with same repeated theme over and over. Copyrights art was great also.

Copyright / Hush - The queue rumours..., by ninja on May 29, 2008 21:50:42 GMT 1, As I said earlier in this thread I certainly don't keep up with Hush or Copyright but I just went back and read the thread where Hush was seemingly caught out (all 10 pages of it) and it all seems even worse in the light of tonight's show.
Can I make it clear that this is not a complaint against Copyright who by all accounts seems to be a nice bloke but this post from May 21 stuck out:
By the sound of it he hasn't got his wish.

Sahoria,
If you did Q - I am sure you would want to comment and say your bit?
Poeple that have been to the show have posted views on what has happened.
People are now starting to post views on the artwork.
Hush was the star of the show - although Copyrights work has moved on - I feel that most of the comments are directed to/about hush as he had the greatest impact on the night.
Add this to the 'ten pages' of don't want to read...or better, scan the forum every once in a while until you see a picture you like from tonight show ......then add a comment about it!
Its been a long day for some and a very long week for most of us having to work out what goes with what.....art & hype?

Copyright / Hush - The queue rumours..., by craigf on May 29, 2008 22:07:04 GMT 1, Just got back and was very lucky getting one of the last 5 Blue GG's, but as master indicated above the maths doesn't add up, 50 GG's + 15 TT2's = 65, in front of me maybe 20 ppl so why only 4 left after me?
That German lady who brings her son was in front of me and got two (i.e. one each) so look out for at least one being flipped on eBay tonight
All but one canvases were gone by lunch time. There were a couple which were a good size and ok price that I would have bought, but instead as they were all sold I ended up going to Lazarides and spanking my money on an original from their show in the new gallery next to the print shop...
I think saying "it was the worst experience of my life" is either a significant exageration or you are very lucky. That said it was not well organised and reminds me of the Stolen Space D*Face What wars are for print queue (where I wasn't so lucky). I am sure there are going to be some pretty pissed ppl on their way home tonight after wasting half a day + in the rain
Re the art we had I think a pretty good idea as to what was going to be on display and most of the originals were similar to the prints we had seen, but were good from both artists. If you are in the area it is worth popping in

Copyright / Hush - The queue rumours..., by bunnyboy on May 29, 2008 22:26:38 GMT 1, I agree with lots of the above. Took a day off work and queued in the cold. Was one of the first few in but there were only blue GGs left by the time I got to the desk. Feel very sorry for the folk that missed out - not good. I don't even think there were enough Hush prints to serve the ticket holders.
Such a shame because I thought the art was fantastic. These were the first Hush canvases I've seen and I thought they were superb. All 3 Hush prints are top quality. Copyright's stuff was also cool - especially the skate decks. A lot of people I chatted to in the queue were very keen on those but with such a small edition no-one had any luck. Did anyone on here manage to bag one?
Good to meet a few folk from here tonight.

Copyright / Hush - The queue rumours..., by atomone on May 29, 2008 22:36:46 GMT 1, Just got back from the show and yes all the comments regarding the queue and prints already sold is correct, that German woman was in front of me too (I remember her from when she pushed in front of me at BRP) I spoke to Ant earlier in the day who had told me that there was a ticket system and that they had already got rid of 50 and the Hush GG was the print of request, so it was out of order for the first 20 in the queue to be faced with 50 random people pushing in with their tickets, especially as it hadn't been announced to those people in the queue! I went along for that print but obviously sold out, however the brucey bonus is that you can put a pre-order for Hush's next print which will be sent out in 6 weeks, it is of the same theme as GG but is a samurai style as aposed to the geisha! pay half now and the other half on delivery and limited to 50 prints...crazy really buying one as they have no image to show you!!, pay ya money and take ya chance I guess!

Copyright / Hush - The queue rumours..., by atomone on May 29, 2008 22:43:20 GMT 1, On a positive note though the work was great, i'm not a hugh Copyright or Hush fan to be honest, but the standard of work was really refreshing! Hush's work on canvas all felt quite similar but really sweet and the original Graff Geisha's on canvas at ยฃ1,750 was a good price as they were stunning! Copyright had some great work too, the decks were amazing as were some of the canvasses and couldn't resist purchasing a queen of hearts print on gold!

Copyright / Hush - The queue rumours..., by paul on May 29, 2008 22:45:11 GMT 1, I think the biggest problem was the lack of any communication - made it feel like they actually didn't care. Opus/Hush could offer a "special print run" of Geisha or T&T to those who had invites and queued in the rain for hours. Bit like Faile did with hits and crashes. I am sure this would go a long way to redress the balance. Names were checked once inside so they know who was there. Chances...well I met Hush a while back and he seemed like a really nice guy...

It was a (relative) cheapy, no ยฃ50k Micallef for me
All will be revealed at a later date when it's home and on my wall ;D (if you really want to know just look at the price list, discount the cheapest couple of items and then you'll be able to work out what I got)

Now that all this fuss is out the way I'll still be going down to see the show, prints or no prints. So should others.

Checked out the queue at 6.30 in the pouring rain.... When to TLSG for a much needed few beers, good music, fantastic art and NO queuing. came back two hours later for the Opus show.... Some good work but worth queuing in the rain for? Come on? What was the point in a guest list?

Copyright / Hush - The queue rumours..., by aj on May 29, 2008 23:45:57 GMT 1, Well it was a first preview show for me, and i went for copyright anyway. (the hush stuff was nice but can't see why all the fuss over the prints) anyway queued for about 45 mins and was about 10 from the door when some bloke started shouting about all the prints being sold out "every single fucking one" then called them all c**t and, pissed off. I waited anyway had a look around copyright stuff was great and really well priced. picked up the last queen of hearts gold which is fucking amazing. and there was still quite a few pink queens left and this was at 9.30 and i was last in the queue.
so won't be supprised if there are a few online in the next couple of days.
Not to bothered about hush but i do hope copyright isn't tarnished with the same brush.
