IAN FRANCIS NEW PRINT, by Dellboyy on May 23, 2008 16:35:23 GMT 1, They've been up there for a good while now... although the option for tube delivery is slightly more recent.
Still amazed that these are still around though, i'm picking up my piano girl from the framers tomorrow! :-)
Strike that, next week now... bloody delayed again!

And they still feel the need to take the p!ss with postage prices. Although it's a lot better than $180 for flatpacked, but at least close to 3 times their actual cost (for extra heavy tubes)! Don't they make enough money selling art or something!
Fifty24 recently charged $125 for international shipping of large, framed and glazed (with glass, not acrylic) pieces. I have paid as little as $15-20 for tubes from LA galleries to UK in the recent past.

Easily the nicest image of the bunch imo. Congrats!

IAN FRANCIS NEW PRINT, by Bram on May 23, 2008 16:46:03 GMT 1, His new piece at the Laz show is very nice. Two people trying to figure out why the light is different (I think). Doesn't go for the catchy titles does he.
By the way - these have been up for ages.

Thick quality tubes with the print well packed/insulated, carrying proper full insurance, tracking numbers, and sent with FexEx cost me $90 to send to the UK. If you want it shipped in a piece of s**t tube with standard mail insurance (capped so it will never cover the art) on the slow boat so its got the best chance of getting damaged I guess you could pay $15-20. Anyone who has dealt with BlkMrkt knows they are all about quality and customer service, so don't talk out of turn.

IAN FRANCIS NEW PRINT, by arcam on May 23, 2008 17:21:32 GMT 1, I really like 'Alice Joins The Army In Wonderland'.
I still think these are priced too high, I'm mean they're the price of a signed Banksy. I bought one from the last edition basically because it was my fav IF. But I'm not buying anymore at that price.

Having dealt with them myself and found their customer service to be rather poor I don't think there's anything too "out of turn" about my comments. In fact Jam, it's you who is full of assumption isn't it? It may be that you have had a better experience of them at BMG, but that doesn't mean everyone else has, or that anyone who says otherwise hasn't dealt with them.

It's all subjective, but I've had nothing but pleasurable experiences with BMG and found their packaging to be second to none!
Shipping rates are all over the place depending on what service you use and what kind of protection you get on it (obviously). I've sent large tubes to the UK fully insured for $30 from the USPS, and I've shipped the exact same tubes fully insured for $100+ from DHL or FedEx.

Correct! I wasn't questioning the quality of their packaging or their printing. Both are excellent!

IAN FRANCIS NEW PRINT, by oneeye on May 23, 2008 20:31:13 GMT 1, BMG have always been top notch. And for what it's worth, the IF prints are gorgeous and extremely high quality. I think 350 is a very fair price for an artist of his caliber.

IAN FRANCIS NEW PRINT, by Gentle Mental on May 24, 2008 0:09:15 GMT 1, I love BMG. J is A class. Super nice service. And the package is bomb proof and flat and mint.
Guess they would like to think, when you pay 700 bucks for a piece of paper, you'd like the piece of paper to arrived as it should be - perfect - at all costs.
So the high price, don't think they're making any money (if any) out of the shipping.
