Dreweatts Art Auctions ๐ฌ๐ง, by lee3 on Jun 17, 2008 20:39:30 GMT 1, >>>define good though ? <<< in the context of this auction, personally i would not have made a deal selling anything over $10k with a fee given that this was their first auction and they just wanted good supply. But, I've been critical of this auction since it was first announced given that i had never heard of them before. If you are selling at the big 2 houses, you shouldn't be paying anything if you have something worth over $200k. It's all a negotiation anyway but many sellers probably never even ask. Theoretically, the lower you are willing to go on your estimate, the less in fees you should pay. well that rules out 99.9% of banksy.info members.Ive bought and sold plenty at auction but i rarely breathe the rarified air of Sotheby's or christies and probably never will.
I don't think this topic rules you or anyone else out of anything. You may have missed my point which is that even on the low end of the spectrum, the houses will lower thier fees. They may not waive them entirely but they'll work with you and many never even know to ask this stuff. The houses are in the moving business and as such it does them no good to turn away a seller which at the same time could turn away a future buyer. They want to establish a long term relationship with you and will give you a token something just as you would if you were in thier shoes. Whether or not you are buying or selling at Sotheby's and Chritie's makes no difference; they will simply be less likely to discount then "lesser" houses for obvious reasons.

Dreweatts Art Auctions ๐ฌ๐ง, by beasty on Jun 17, 2008 20:40:43 GMT 1, yeh - I think Frankie does represent Cyclops( and a good job he does as well).
I think his work is fantastic but it has jumped alot in price in 6 months( if you can take this auction as representative, which is a big IF).

Dreweatts Art Auctions ๐ฌ๐ง, by freeisthemagic on Jun 17, 2008 20:49:49 GMT 1, It's jumped a bit since i paid 20 quid for this on ebay!
Thats REALLY nice that piece!
Out of this whole ''street'' movement at the moment there is no one more dedicated to STREET work that Cyclops, between him and sweet toof they are putting more hours/paint in than any other artists on the scene, smashing it.
Walker spends his whole time writing VANDAL on canvases than walls, in actual fact he Vandalizes nothing, Cyclops and Sweet toof are Vandals, and good ones at that!
