Yeah, know what you mean. Though I quite like the 'rawness' of them as they are. Love the blue butterflies in particular.

Yep they look great. I think its the green that is very flat. Perhaps a watered down poster paint or acrylic to make the splashes. I am sure he has experimented with lots of different techniques.
