Futura 2000 interview, by RPM on Nov 17, 2009 20:19:43 GMT 1, "Recently there has been some difficulties with that group, for whatever reason, itโs totally cruel."
That statement is fairly ambiguous and can be read a myriad of ways. Given that Stash was part of Krunk, I would tend to believe that he is referring to something else. Nevertheless, we should probably refrain from speculating or making what could be considered potentially defamatory statements in a public forum until/unless we learn the facts. Just my $.02
Thanks glltn for posting that interview. Fantastic read!

I'm pretty sure that KRUNK doesn't exist anymore. If they do exist they certainly aren't a valid presence.
Regardless, Ronnie Pirovino is/was a toy collector who got into the art market a couple years ago by investing in KAWS. He's pretty hip to the local LA gallery scene and he's well liked in the community.
Here's his website: www.pirovinoprojex.com
He also blogs at www.dailydujour.com and runs the Art Collectors blog and forum.

Futura 2000 interview, by pirovino on Dec 17, 2009 6:33:32 GMT 1, KRUNK, which I started, was a side-project, among four very distinguished individuals. We are pursuing interests outside the group at present. Among our accomplishments on record are Futura's most financially successful show (to date) in Sept. 2008 in LA (my hometown); release of the only serigraphs in Futura's career (to date) in Dec. 2008 ; and a highly regarded group show in Dubai in April of 2009. It's definitely true we had some issues with the print release (I wouldn't call it massive problems as the vast majority of people received their prints normally and a small minority who did not were dutifuly taken care of subsequently). The timing over the '08 holidays was effectively a major factor that worked against us. Our fulfillment agent had to deal with the fact that the public had a certain expectation for a rapid transaction. Regardless, I and the other members of the group are proud of what we did. Anyone is free to ask Lenny about his experience with me, personally, and the group as a whole. Every penny is/was accounted for and he came away with well into six figures from our engagements. We may re-focus our attention on the group in the future. It's an open end.
As for me, I continue with my KAWS collection with around 30 ORIGINALS. I've moved into a large new space and am in the process of displaying the whole holding. With my fulltime job as an interactive developer for a thriving, major agency, my time is at a premium. It's quickly turned into a part-time job to get everything ready for 'gallery quality' display - pedestals; framing; lighting; hanging, etc. That's what I'm focused on right now. I am actually documenting the process on my Facebook. There's several high-profile photographers interested in shooting the collection in 2010...I will choose to pursue my art 'presentation' interests outside of my collection at some point again...
Peace,
Ronnie Pirovino
