NO MAN'S LAND : 70 artists in TOKYO (+ The Geisha), by Jef Aerosol on Dec 4, 2009 23:34:33 GMT 1,
Tokyo, Japan : After the French Embassy relocation, the former buildings are holding a huge art event called "No Man's Land" (the place doesn't belong to France any longer but doesn't belong to Japan again yet either !). The event is bringing together 70 artists from Japan and France and will last until january 31st, the buildings will be destroyed in february ! The works, most of which were created on the premises invade all the spaces both inside and outside of the remaining buildings : offices, corridors, library, staircases, basement, gardens, etc. The visitors can see all the fields of creation such as visual arts, design, sculpture, architecture, photography, graffiti, stencil art, live performances, conceptual installations, video, land art, music, etc. The opening evening was a huge success with more than 2000 people between 6 and 10 pm.

That's Brigitte Bardot, mate ! I cut two different stencils of her. Funny you're mentioning Sophia Lauren, am working on a stencil of her for a haute couture auction sale !

Haha - knew I recognised her - sorry for my stupidity! It's obvious now.

some great and very famous contemporary French artists in the list : Georges Rousse, Claude Lรฉvรจque, Christian Boltanski... (check them on google)
Lucille Reyboz is also quite well-known : she made lots of pics and record covers for various labels such as blue note etc... She also released books of her pics. check her on the web too.
Some famous Japanese artists too (Hogalee & Rebirth Project, etc...)
Most of the artists had only one room to create their own specific universe. Apart from Alice Daquet and Colin Ledoux (the metal planes, the music show in the big plastic bubble...), Nicolas Buffe (the Torii gate at the entrance) and the Tree shibari bondage of Hitomi Fujiwara, we were 4 french street artists to "invade" the various corridors, inside and outside walls etc : Psyckoze, Speedy Graphito, Monsieur Chat and myself...

oh yeah, I hadn't thought of that, but it's true that could also make a nice print... Actually, I don't release many prints.
