A cheap share which will be a slow burner but will come good if you can hold (pun intended)

The IMF won't bail out the country unless it changes it's government.
So the plan is working so far and if Venzuala plays ball with the US and global banking cartel and does a deal to sell cheap oil to the US.
Saudi oil could drop further in price.
Tesla cars are not being built for nothing.
Plus we got the fucking fracking.

Also the US is transitioning (slowly) to natural gas, because of vast local reserves.
It's gonna be a roller coaster ride stock price wise.

The EU don't want Putins gas.
Plus once the land is fracked and polluted it will be sold cheap to developers.
Plus the councillors who voted for fracking are probably on the take or members of some secret society.

Share Tips - Anyone else trade?, by RoboJ on May 26, 2016 8:52:33 GMT 1, I understand what you are saying but its not about who has oil reserves, it's about the break even price. Until recently only the Saudis could produce oil because they, closely followed by the us, have the lowest break even point of around $30 - $40 a barrel. Russia is a bit higher hence they have been hit very hard and the North Sea I think is about $60 a barrel. Once it starts getting to $70 we will start to see investment into these projects again. When the US started over supplying the price dropped into the 30s. Oil is just hitting the $50 mark for the first time in a while. So there isn't much room for it to drop. Of course anything can happen though

Share Tips - Anyone else trade?, by Sir Ruddington on Jan 9, 2021 15:07:37 GMT 1, Resurrecting this thread as I am looking for direction on where to park $4000 for a year. I am making an effort to invest in stocks rather than leaving money sitting in a bank. I really don't know where to begin. Of course I want a moderate return and some security but would be pleased with anything earning more than the banks' current/non-existent return rate. Thanks

Share Tips - Anyone else trade?, by startimeash on Jan 9, 2021 17:19:50 GMT 1, Have been investing in the Lindsell Train Global Equity fund for about 5 years now and itโs always produced a decent return. Available via any decent broker (I use Hargreaves Lansdown). That said, investing for a year is probably not the best idea - ideally youโd want to be holding for longer than that so any shocks even out over time. Would say youโre better off finding a savings account for a year, rather than buying stocks. That said, I am not an expert, so take what I say with a pinch of salt.

Share Tips - Anyone else trade?, by Schrรถdinger's Chat on Jan 9, 2021 17:52:13 GMT 1, It's a shame you weren't in a position to invest 6 months ago when the markets were very low.
My advice as a complete novice (me not you) best to spread your money out and not lump it all on one share/crypto/piece of art, and not all at one time.
Managed investment funds are the easiest way to invest if you don't want to put all your eggs in one basket.
Scottish Mortgage Trust has been flying (mainly due to tesla / amazon stock). I've actually found Nutmeg to be a great investment platform for drip feeding in monthly (basic pound cost averaging). I have 3 funds with them and they have produced 29%, 18% & 21% profit respectively.
Or take a punt on tesla going to the moon (literally / metaphorically). Predictions they could reach $1000 per share, that would still leave a 15% gain from current position.

Because of Brexit my sister was moved to Interactive Brokers Ireland platform and she didn't see ARK ETFs. Could also be a matter of what she answered to the questions about how experienced she is. In any case, first months are free, so you can give it a try.
