Ian francis Prints Shipping Help Please!!, by haisurf on Jan 23, 2008 4:18:36 GMT 1, Hey everyone. I was going to ship Ian Francis' "two people who lose track of where they are", "Maria Ozawa", and "...day in the snow" to my friend.
My question, the paper just doesn't strike me as "wanting to roll." Does anyone have any suggestions? Somerset 330g paper I guess is what it's called. Is it safe to roll, thus just making me a paranoid weirdo? I have kept the prints flat since purchase. They are going across the world and I don't want them getting screwed up...so, if you have any ideas I'd be grateful. Thanks a lot

Ian francis Prints Shipping Help Please!!, by Gentle Mental on Jan 23, 2008 5:21:47 GMT 1, DON'T ROLL THEM!!!!
do it the BLK MRKT way. a sanwich in this order - PLY WOOD - MOUNTING BOARD - ACID FREE PAPER + acid free tape to secure print (wrapped in acid free paper first) - more layers of acid free paper - mounting board - plywood then sealed airtight with tape then brownpaper the thing.
that should do the trick!

Ian francis Prints Shipping Help Please!!, by rkitek on Jan 23, 2008 6:43:23 GMT 1, It's always much better if you can ship them flat provided that they are packed so that they can't be bent, crushed or punctured.
If necessary, you can roll these prints for shipment -- I know because I've done it. If you need to roll them, get a large diameter tube that has a thick wall and make sure you use sufficient tissue to protect the print.
