APHQ Archives | Charity Auctions | Shows | Flickr, by Agent Provocateur on Apr 9, 2009 15:14:28 GMT 1, Me and the APHQ elves were doing a little spring clean the other day and found some old images. I did these at the end of 2007, but because some of the iconography had already been used very well I consigned them to the 'already done' shelf.
Seeing them again I thought it'd interesting to get them out for any comments, feedback, cries of plagiarism or not MORE war images!!!!
I'm afraid there's a bit of b******t below but feel free to ignore it
The premise was... Armies across the world are having to adapt and change, with goody bags and corporate sponsorship entering the world of death and mayhem! Whether it's a designer snipers blanket, sponsored missiles or exclusive camouflage the modern army has it all.
Comfort Blanket - The problem with joining the army is that there is a lot of discomfort, pain, agony and death. To try and bolster recruitment there is a new trend when applicants are accepted, on top of their normal equipment they get a few luxuries...
Pradar Guided Missile - With military hardware costing so much and countries cutting back on budgets many armies are now courting corporate sponsorship. Several quality brands have already seen the gap in the market and signed up...
Wealth Bomber (I know, I know... this Louise Vuitton thing has been done to death : - Wealth Bomber... the latest stealth craft that is coated with a new polymer composite that can blend into any surroundings. Whether in the skies high above a war torn country or nipping down the shops for a bit of retail therapy...
Sorry for all the words! ;D

APHQ Archives | Charity Auctions | Shows | Flickr, by Coach on Apr 9, 2009 22:05:56 GMT 1, Hey AP. Hope you are well. Are these stencils?
Also - having loved the Circus pieces - top work mate - I would love to know what is happening with the houses of parliament piece and the no room at the inn piece. I thought they were both great, and still have my card framed on the wall. But I am keen to know what next for these two pieces.
Cheers c

Work like this highlights the fact that despite hard times, we are a privileged generation in that we are witnessing the end of an Empire, the death of capitalism and the spawning of a new revolution a new consciousness, superb work dude.

APHQ Archives | Charity Auctions | Shows | Flickr, by Agent Provocateur on Apr 10, 2009 16:39:25 GMT 1, Thanks guys, didn't really know the reaction to these...
Glad you're liking the Burberry check EuropeanBob
And yep I'm sure there's a few out there that would enlist for some exclusive handouts Mish Mash
CZK, glad the message gets across, I think your wording is a bit more eloquent than mine!
Coach, all is well, been a bit hectic at the start of the year getting the Circus stuff ready for the Urban Scrawl show. As well as the stencils in the show I also donated two to two charity auctions.
Pezlow's charity auction, The Oli Bennett Charitable Trust, got a gnarly wood 'Tipping Point' that has no spray just fire!
And I also donated a large wooden tipping point to Inkies charity auction, Inkies Cochlear Implant charity auction, that is one of my favourite paintings I've done to date. I was really happy with the texture from the acrylic, ink, fire and spray and the dark smoke filled atmosphere it conjures up
The series of three images above are only on my computer atm, when I did them at the end of 2007 I realised that they were more suited to screen printing than stenciling. And because the LV iconography, war, guns, missiles etc had been done a lot I decided to crack on with simpler stencils ('Limited edition' and 'Second Coming').
Ahhh I'm afraid you'll have to wait a bit longer for the 'Flats of Parliament' stencil and 'No room at the Holiday' paste up type print as I'm preparing a couple of pieces for the 'Small is Beautiful' online exhibition and also the TB+TC show (poster below) during the Brighton Festival next month!
... buuuut you may like a couple of the mini paintings that will be in the 'Small is Beautiful' show coach There should one of my early pieces that never made it to canvas and also a political building detail
Thanks again for the feedback fellas ;D

APHQ Archives | Charity Auctions | Shows | Flickr, by Agent Provocateur on Apr 14, 2009 18:00:16 GMT 1, Sacked, I just noticed there's a new thread in the main section of the forum giving all the details of Inkies charity auction. First time I've seen the full line up... fascinated to see all the work
My corner of the wibbly wobbly world www.aprovocateur.co.uk has had a little spring clean and I'm in the process of loading all my images to a new Flickr account... will post the details when everything's up!
