Art process & general chat thread, by LEVI C on Feb 4, 2009 16:39:44 GMT 1, The other day I wondered why there isn't a general thread (possibly) even a sticky, that is where we can just post random chat stuff. With my semi outdoor studio, I was battling with the snow on Mon/Tues, I discovered it is officially the most impossible weather to spray in (previously thought wind was bad enough) and after ruining a new piece I was dying to complain about to it.
Didn't really warrant a new thread, but if there was a standard one that we could just use to ask about materials, dealing with galleries and the process in general, i thought that would be good.
Just thought it might open up some interesting discussions.
Thoughts?

Art process & general chat thread, by idiom on Feb 4, 2009 21:39:49 GMT 1, Please don't get me to add my woes to the bargain! I have been spraying indoors in my bedroom over the past few days. Not the best idea (don't worry i'm my own health and safety officer and have been wearing a mask!) but it's just not good for you or for spraying. Hopefully the results have worked out okay as will be posting but it has defo been an uphill struggle...

Art process & general chat thread, by optiknerve on Feb 4, 2009 21:58:36 GMT 1, Well, after watching a few videos on youtube, I decide as it was sooo cold outside, I would turn my hand to screenprinting (looked a doddle). Got an old frame, some silk and cut a nice little stencil, prepared just as the videos said and guess what...... it ain't as simple as they make it look LOL. I ended up with a lovely blob on my canvas paper :-(
Think I will stick to spraying in my shed and leave the other to the professionals :-)

Art process & general chat thread, by idiom on Feb 5, 2009 12:22:21 GMT 1, Can anyone possibly let me know a reputable supplier of bespoke stickers? I've found a couple but a couple of recommendations would be good...
Cheers

Art process & general chat thread, by schlomo on Feb 5, 2009 12:33:11 GMT 1, I've had trouble with the snow as well, new lock up, new flood to deal with. Luckily i had prepared myself this time so had a mop and bucket on stand by and had put everything up off the floor. Also found that after 25 mins in there i was freezing to death and that the caps on the spray paint had blocked! Anyway thats my gripe.

Art process & general chat thread, by LEVI C on Feb 5, 2009 14:14:22 GMT 1, Hey peeps!
No idea on the sticker front Idiom, if you could post the best costs you found that would be great, might be interested in some myself at some point.
Awful hangover this morning and went straight out sledging with the little one at 8am! great fun though. I find myself in a win win situation now. I want it to snow more because me and some mates have a bouncy castle we want to take out to a MASSIVE hill IN THE DARK tonight!........that really will be fun!! but I don't want it to snow because I a meant to go to the printers tomorrow with a finished Queenie which I have only just started Dying to fix my new piece to, the guy looks like a sumo wrestler
Glad to see a few peeps posted here though. It might work it might not, I guess we'll see if I leave the thread here. I'll edit the title and see what happens.
ta da for now!
