Crazy Jakes first print RELEASE!!!, by alsky on Nov 12, 2007 14:40:00 GMT 1, I agree with Sliky. The paper used is great. I gives the print a real raw feel and the green really 'pops'. Great work Crazyjake. Hope all is going well with your next print. If it is as good as the last one you can put me down for a pre- order. +1

Crazy Jakes first print RELEASE!!!, by Michael Jacob on Nov 12, 2007 15:00:58 GMT 1, Silky and alsky Many thanks! Im glad you like the print. Harveyn, I hope yours arrives soon (did the Charidee one arrive yet?). Im really close to printing the second one. Being new to this, I keep running into hurdles. Heres a few pictures of where I do some of the work. This is when I was doing the stencil red cross. Thanks again for the support.

Crazy Jakes first print RELEASE!!!, by BK83 on Nov 14, 2007 22:02:27 GMT 1, feel free to neg away, but Im seriously shocked that people purchased/liked this print... sorry, but the idea is average at best, not to mention entirely unoriginal and therefore redundant, but on top of this it's absolutely poorly executed.... sorry. But there has to be a level of honesty especially when it comes to artists. why would you want to keep giving someone false confidence? we should be honest about shitty work to inspire people to work harder and create better work. I'm sure we could agree...

Crazy Jakes first print RELEASE!!!, by Michael Jacob on Nov 14, 2007 22:09:53 GMT 1, jaypaav, i appreciate your honesty, art is completely objective. There have been many compliments, and critics as well. Its my first print and I hope future ones will expand on my talent. Ive have had a fair share of technical setbacks, but I think things are working out now. IMO Ive got some really nice pieces coming up, maybe youll like one of them. I cant think of any artist, great or not, who had to start somewhere. +1 from me.

Crazy Jakes first print RELEASE!!!, by Harveyn on Nov 14, 2007 22:19:21 GMT 1, Jaypaav
You certainly should not be neg for having an opinion (in fact IMO you should not be neg for any reason).
So you have stated clearly your opinion.
Your have also implied that your view is the same as others who have hidden behind positive or even neutral comments. I cannot speak for anyone else's but if I do not like something than I certainly would not say that I did.
When it comes to art everyone is entitled to have an opinion, everyone is entitled to have a different opinion and everyone is entitled to voice their opinion. But no one can state that their opinion is correct as opposed to someone else's. IMO......

Great print but everyone is entitled to their own opinion +1 for doing so jaypaav, this is what the forum should be about, respect.

Crazy Jakes first print RELEASE!!!, by spirit on Nov 14, 2007 23:00:18 GMT 1, At risk of getting negged too, I'm generally with jaypaav on this one (sorry jake, you come across as a really sound guy!). I just don't like the print. Can't really comment on execution as I haven't seen it in the flesh but I agree that the subject matter is unoriginal - (ie Mantis iNeed, Beejoir lv child etc). All of these prints say we would rather spend our cash on an iPod/handbag/game console than do anything about 3rd world poverty. A fair point to make - but I think this kind of art is much more suited to the street, where it can be argued that it raises awareness of the issue in the public consciousness, than it is to the living room wall.
Like Jaypaav, I am very surprised at the overwhelmingly positive response the print has got from the forum. I am not saying people are saying they like it when they don't - just that the response has surprised me.
On a positive note, I think the Dollar COA is brilliant
Jake - Although it's not for me, I congratulate you on making your first print and wish you all the best for the future. I will keep an eye out for your future releases and hope that there is something in the pipeline that I like more.
