Pertwee Anderson & Gold - James Golding, by Guy Denning on Feb 27, 2011 12:13:41 GMT 1, I don't know the whys and wherefores, or the truth or otherwise of this blog, but I think it should be posted up here as it concerns a gallery name I've noticed here before.
tinyurl.com/5rnw98s
I've been turned over by venues and dealers in the past, as have friends of mine. The artist is generally the least powerful in the chain of the art market. Just be careful before you start sending off your work ANYWHERE and do some research first.

Good advice

Pertwee Anderson & Gold - James Golding, by joeschmo on Feb 27, 2011 16:30:04 GMT 1, Wonder if he's still on the blow?
He did a runner with a lot of false promises of payment, and if I remember correctly owing an orphanage 30,000 quid or something.

i think you may be getting a bit confused with the Charidee guy. He messed around with a kids hospice, not sure there is any money owing left, but it was a big fuck up. Big up Harveyn who sorted it all out. but he did do a runner with promises of false payments.
i was very lucky. i had my LV Child canvas for sale at TLSG and picked it up, because they had had it for ages without selling. 3 days later they closed owing shed loads of cash.

Pertwee Anderson & Gold - James Golding, by craigf on Feb 27, 2011 17:43:13 GMT 1, There were two charity cock ups, the one Harveyn sorted plus Beejoir did the black and gold statues that were meant to raise money for a Thai childrens charity. Not sure if they saw any of the proceeds I luckily picked mine statues up when I coincidently was walking past and remembered they hadn't been sent yet (actually my ex has the gold one still, but not worth the hassle of trying to get it back)

I collected my black LVC in person from James while he was organising the Doze Green show, although I never got the gold, he made some feeble excuse. Visiting in person is probably the only reason I've got any at all!
I know that some stock was liberated from Lend-st after it closed thanks to PE and others. Although I didn't loose out on the scale of many of the artists involved, this still p!sses me off... As did the number Gold LVC statues became available long after Leonard St closed at stores like Fusshop.
As far as I'm concerned that F#cker still owes me money, I'm inclined to do what I can to address that if I ever see him at his new venture.

Pertwee Anderson & Gold - James Golding, by joeschmo on Feb 27, 2011 18:22:30 GMT 1, Yes I remember speaking to Beejoir at a show in the Brick Lane Gallery and he was evil as fuck about it all. There were hundreds of those statues made and sold for quite a bit, and every penny went missing. Ripping off and artist is bad but ripping of a children's charity is unforgivable.

Pertwee Anderson & Gold - James Golding, by Deleted on Feb 27, 2011 18:46:08 GMT 1, Its good that this is out in the open, but i wonder if it will help or hinder people in their attempts to reclaim what he owes them. Via pms would never have worked and would have been the wrong way to go. Anyone wants a pal to pay a visit to reclaim some owed money. its the sort of buzz I like(in a chilled out plesant way of course).

He's got to be deluded if he thinks anyone would trust him to do what he said after tlsg.

Pertwee Anderson & Gold - James Golding, by balibob on Mar 3, 2011 14:05:15 GMT 1, Never good when galleries rip off artists. Its a big thing for an artist to get his/her work into a gallery for the first time and when they hear stuff like this, high profile and established artists being duped, they could be thinking 'what chance have i got.

Pertwee Anderson & Gold - James Golding, by Deleted on Mar 3, 2011 14:30:53 GMT 1, Ask The Stone Roses how to deal with a greedy manager.
For those of you not familiar:
"ALL FOUR members of The Stone Roses were remanded on conditional bail at Wolverhampton Magistrate's Court last Wednesday. The four, Ian Brown, John Squire, Alan 'Reni' Wren and Gary 'Manny' Mounfield, will appear in court on March 6 to face charges of criminal damage amounting to ยฃ10,000 inflicted on the Wolverhampton offices of their former record company FM Revolver.
It is alleged that the four carried out a "grudge attack" on FM Revolver's boss Paul Birch as retaliation against his re-issuing of the band's early single 'Sally Cinnamon' (No 48 in this week's chart) and its accompanying video, shot in Manchester without the band's consent.
In the attack cans of blue and white paint are alleged to have been thrown around the interior of Birch's office, covering him and his girlfriend and causing extensive damage. Three cars, including a Mercedes, were also daubed with paint during the attack."

Big up Rae from brooklynite!

Just sad to see a charity get swindled in the process, the lowest of the low.

Pertwee Anderson & Gold - James Golding, by Squarity on Mar 19, 2011 8:51:59 GMT 1, I saw the show, on my way through soho. Good space, similar in feel to rathbone laz building- only smaller. Art on show reminded me of a bit of Polly Morgan, it was ok, bit more abstract and surreal, but nothing had prices on wall (hate that).
