Your latest Art Purchase?, by South Bound on Aug 20, 2014 2:49:06 GMT 1, My problem is not necessarily my budget for art (which is definitely limited) but I am buying myself out of my framing budget... And one of my best friends is a Framer / conservator... Kind of sad.

They custom cut all the supplies (frame, backboard, mats, plexi, etc) and you assmeble it yourself with their supplies. I understand that not everyone feels comfortable doing this, but a great option for pieces that may not be as valuable.

No kidding, I haven't framed anything in ages and just brought a third piece to the framer for the wife's office. Just about $2k for a fucking small poster and 2 medium sized prints. It's crazy!!
I think my next frame/UV acrylic will be sourced online. And I'll just buy the matts cut locally and put it together on a rainy day.

And one of my best friends is a Framer / conservator... Kind of sad. No kidding, I haven't framed anything in ages and just brought a third piece to the framer for the wife's office. Just about $2k for a f**king small poster and 2 medium sized prints. It's crazy!! I think my next frame/UV acrylic will be sourced online. My Framer friend owes me big time (I've sent him probably 15 - 20k in customers, 1 guy alone had 20 posters framed) BUT I have to make the most of my favors and cannot figure out when or what I want to pull the trigger on.
Ideally it would be to do something crazy with a signed Banksy... Just need to get a signed Banksy.
My archive is growing fat and I am feeling guilty... Need to quit looking at this forum and IG and just save to frame.

Your latest Art Purchase?, by Deleted on Aug 20, 2014 19:30:12 GMT 1, This is unbelievably addicting, as we all know. I do, however, have financial thresholds that I just refuse to go below, so unless I'm offered something that is literally idiotic to turn down I really don't think I'll be buying anything more. If I do buy more stuff, I'll have to sell some pieces and I only buy to hang so that's sort of an impasse. I guess there's always trading You have more will power than me haha.We should start a thread called Show us Your Art Storage Whoever decided to make an unsigned Toxic Mary AND a Harrington 'Fight Club' available the day after I posted this: I hate you.

Your latest Art Purchase?, by umphreak on Aug 20, 2014 19:45:42 GMT 1, Liked it so much, I ordered one for myself! Where did you get one from? I'd love one, can you still get them or is it just getting lucky now? I purchased mine right from the artist. I think they're sold out, but there are some prints on ebay (at exorbitant prices).
Here is the mural (created in 2009) skurktur.com/portfolio/cmyk

If you don't want to buy anything else, best thing you can do is not read the forums! It's hard to hang around here and not get tempted
