POW 2009, 2010, Queue Photos, by colinfishwick on Jan 10, 2011 13:08:21 GMT 1,
a good read except for the fact that there were not car loads of people turning up and walking in at the front of the queue, nearly all the pushing in happened between 2am and 4am, i went from 80-100 in the queue at that time and ended up with ticket number 105.
no doubt people jumped the queue but this bullshit has to stop, there was someone else on here crying that night because they didn't get a print and telling the story as if all hell was breaking loose - it wasn't! yes there were scuffles but one fight was because a drunken reveller who walked past the queue antagonising people wouldn't leave and eventually he started a fight with a young lad and got a pasting, not condoning that but it happened.
there were young people queueing who appeared to be south american and were all under 25, these people were given cash by a small man once they had collected their raffle tickets - they were not in the queue at Berwick street but they didn't jump the queue at Commercial Rd so what can you do?
finally, the assertion that a large number of the ones bought at POW were for the money and those bought at M&S were real art lovers etc, again bollocks. there was a good 10-20 of us just back from the bus shelter who had a real good craic all night and in to the morning, in spite of the organisational chaos - drinking, joking, laughing and talking about whatever you can think of.
there were people in front of me that flipped prints but queued legitimately, there were people behind me and back at soho who queued legitimately who flipped prints. there were people who pushed in and bought a print they love and want to hang on their walls - Slammer at the front of the first queue walked straight in to the front of the queue at Commercial road and good luck to him!

POW 2009, 2010, Queue Photos, by colinfishwick on Jan 10, 2011 13:20:29 GMT 1, What still bothers me about that night is that the people at the front of the queue knew before the email dropped that the print was going to be released at POW. So the gangs of touts and groups of people paid to queue for others had insider info. And the POW staff who arrived Sat AM greeted a few of the touts far to friendly for my liking..
not sure about the last bit but everything else was true, these people were not anywhere near the queue in Soho and yet there were literally scores of people at the front, all buying collectively for a handful of dealers who knew exactly where to be at half ten that night - they could have been local, been chancers etc but there were a lot of people, very near the front of the queue who i'd put good money on the fact they didn't even know what they were queuing for, just that they could bag a few notes for doing so and in the process make someone rich a whole lot richer.....

POW 2009, 2010, Queue Photos, by rowan on Jan 10, 2011 13:35:12 GMT 1, Alot of people were left with a bad taste in their mouths after this Banksy release. I'd been checking online everyday and was ready to make my way from Scotland down to London to que. I go online Saturday morning and it was all over.
I don't mind putting in the work but I really hope the next release is planned a little better and hopefully we all haves fair and honest chance and we don't need to wait until next December!
