Are print numbers important to you?, by kjzimm on Dec 23, 2009 8:34:37 GMT 1, Now, I just have to keep my wife and kids away from the prints while I'm out of town. Thanks for the info. Those prints were never going to move. Even if I had a Banksy, it would remain rolled until I had a place to hang it. This answer will be better than all the tubes under my stairs. I'm worried about all the old stuff now. I have a Hendrix poster from 1968 under those stairs, some Warhol gallery prints, a Calder, and who knows what else...all rolled up.

If I cant get number 1 which is pretty rare as they tend to go to the artists mates most of the time the last number is nice

Wouldnt pay loads more for a print with a "nice" number tho!
And I agree that A/P's can be more interesting IF and thats IF its different from the normal run!!

Increments of 10 are good for me, as are halfway numbers, or the top or bottom value. Single figures are all good too...

Are print numbers important to you?, by howlinjack on Dec 23, 2009 11:12:48 GMT 1, when i can i choose numbers that reflect things in my world...birth year...daughters age... etc. i did have the opportunity to choose no1 from a run of 5 insect APs and i have no2 from nick walkers nikers print run. other than that i tend to admire the image and not pay too much attention to the number or even the signature.

I would pay more for a print number 1 but not much more..

I managed to get all 3 of the hand finished Vhils print's from the Scratching the Surface exhibition with the same number.
It's unlikely that I'd have bought all 3 had they not been the same edition number
