The majority of them that I have I find pointless as it would be incredibly easy to copy. A thorough database is important.

As an artist (according to the red star) surely you should have the vision and talent to create your own. 'Stuck for ideas' isn't very reassuring.
Nonetheless, good luck and hopefully someone else can provide you with some vision.

Hero you set your self up for criticism don't you - maybe if you spent a little less time worrying about things like COA's and spent a little time on your art.
Remember Banksy only started giving COA's recently and some might say he's got a reputation to protect from fakes so it seems like a worthwhile thing to do - not really sure they should be your priority..
Keep painting till people demand a COA from you
Peace

get your COAs out for the lads, by jamo on Feb 1, 2009 22:15:22 GMT 1, Na, it's a bit of over-spray / paint. Now a fly would have really been going the extra milwe and have made it a real 1/1 unique piece...... ;D Hero - I thought it was a perfectly valid point to ask for feedback from forum members on. Some people are too quick to look for negatives and seem to lose their sense of decency. We all share a common interest so idiotic remarks like the ones made against your thread serve no purpose. IMO.

get your COAs out for the lads, by neale on Feb 1, 2009 22:29:45 GMT 1, the best coa i have is a really nice postcard from Nick Walker thanking me for buying a print, its signed, and means as much to me as the print. People who worry about the coa of everything they buy are only worried about resale value, dont over worry about it, but the POW VLH seemed a good idea, half a tenner with a long no. on it halved

Fair enough, Hero. My point was that as an artist you really should have the vision to create your own COA. I didn't really consider whether your work warrented one.
But as you raise the point it seems a good idea. It would be a frightening prospect further down the line to see a deal fall through because the vendor didn't have a COA to back up the works validity. The vendee could quite reasonably think that some crafty sod had been trying to run off a fake of your work. Possibly hundreds of thousands of dollars resting on this.
Out of interest has anyone been offered a fake Hero?

get your COAs out for the lads, by pointblank on Feb 1, 2009 23:56:58 GMT 1, I think tbh coas are generally a waste of time as they can be easily copied unless they are made pretty unique, i generally embed a number in my completed & paid for work which matches up to what i have on file although not always as sometimes it needs to be specific to the artwork in the past when requested i have done generic stuff like fingerprint, footprints, personal sketches ect. For a fear commission i did on wood the coa was a teddy bear with a hole in the back with a kids knife (numbered) splattered with red paint inserted inside with a scribbled child like coa.

so you sold 2 pieces and its time for a COA ?? Banksy sold 100's of paintings and 10's of 1000's of prints before deciding it was necessary
